John offered the lowest estimate of the 4 companies we contacted and was also the first to get back to us when we requested an estimate. He offers a 3 year labor guarantee and is lead certified. He was professional and polite, showed up on time, and always returned our phone calls within a couple hours. He took payment in 3 parts: 1 before work began for supply costs, 1 after the primer coat was done, and 1 when the whole job was done. He used Benjamin Moore paints. For the scraping (2 days), he had two helpers. For the priming and painting, he worked alone. He was always working while he was at our house, didn't seem to ever stop. He did a great job scraping and keeping the paint chips cleaned up. He was conscientious and never blocked the driveway or left supplies in our way. He reminded us of wet paint when he painted the porch floors, which was very helpful. A few people driving by stopped to ask him to schedule estimates on their own homes because the work looked so good. The paint lines between siding and trim are super clean. The whole house looks great. Many trick-or-treaters' parents complimented the paint job about a month after it was done and the neighbors were astounded by the change a nice paint job made. It still looks good, even after superstorm Sandy. Assuming the paint job holds up for a reasonable while (it's only been 2 months, but no problems yet), we will definitely hire John again.
