I highly recommend MHT for paving and landscaping. Paul Mercier is a true professional who really knows his business, and does an exceptional job at a rate that is not only comparable but very reasonable for the results you get. We hired Paul Mercier in the spring of 2015 to pave over our 20-year-old 440-foot driveway, which has two switchbacks and winds its way up a ledge. When the driveway was first laid in 1995, it was not done properly with enough of a foundation. Over the years we did various patch repairs, which never lasted for long. When we found Paul, we were overjoyed to have someone who knew what he was doing, and actually did it! Paul, along with his great crew, gave us a REAL driveway, with a 2-3” base, which has lasted for 3.5 years WITHOUT ANY CRACKS OR DAMAGE due to frost heaves since putting it in. This past September of 2018, we invited him back to seal coat the driveway, as well as shore up the edges with 3-4” stones to prevent washout on the sides of the driveway. He suggested adding some crushed gravel to one side of the driveway to create extra parking areas for our in-home business, which we proceeded to do and are very happy with. He also laid down some crushed gravel to prepare a patio under our deck for future installation. Paul is very thorough and detail-oriented, and will make suggestions based on your needs, and what will work for the long run as well as tell you what won’t. I recommend him HIGHLY for your next paving/landscaping project!

Paul was responsive and demonstrated a professional level of care. I felt his price was on the high end; but his work was good and his staff were well trained, hard workers and seemed good natured. The work was very good. I believe him to be an honorable business man. I felt the driveway should have been a four or five few inches wider near the street to replicate the previous driveway. I wished I had specified and noticed that sooner. There was one small thing I requested be fixed and he kindly came back and honored the request without any issues. From what I saw, he treats his staff well and pays them fairly. I would recommend MHT paving with Paul Mercier.

Paul is very easy to work with. He gave me a good estimate and put me on the schedule for a month out. Two days later, he called and told me he had an opening the next day. I agreed and his team showed up the next morning. By evening they were done and the new driveway looks great!

We got several bids for reconstructing the driveway, and then Paul proposed a process that would seal the several large cracks and bond them together, then resurface the entire drive. This was a considerable savings over reconstruction. Since the original base was in good condition, and resurfacing would avoid the problem of future settling, we went with MHT. We are very pleased with the results. I was impressed with Paul's timeliness and responsiveness. He came when he said he would and always called if he was going to be later than originally planned. His crew was polite, efficient and competent. One special issue we had was the need to blend the new surface of the drive with the walk to the front door which had been installed just two years earlier. One of Paul's crew took up about a yard of the walkway and relaid it to perfectly blend in. Very skilled work. They were delayed in returning to seal the walk, and Paul was very apologetic when I reminded him, and immediately sent the worker to finish the job. This was one of the best experiences we've had with a company, and would not hesitate to recommend MHT for any paving job.

Very professional company with good results

Paul Mercier was very professional and I am completely satisfied with the project. From the start, he was very responsive to my many inquiries. He showed up to discuss the project on time and handled many questions that arose. He showed up on the appointed day and completed work earlier than expected. The end result is that I have a widened driveway to accommodate two vehicles and two welcoming pathways that enhance the character of the home. Paul also excavated several garden beds that had overgrown shrubs with poor soil. He replaced the soil with rich screened loam allowing us to plant new shrubbery easily. I would not hesitate to recommend Paul Mercier of MHT to improve your property.

The provider never showed up.

The paving crew, with business owner as leader, arrived on time and reviewed what they planned to do and asked about concerns I might have.   I chose this business because they put down an adhesive crack bridging strip of elastic material prior to covering with 2 inch layer of asphalt.  There were several cracks treated in this manner.  The paving cost estimate was within a few dollars of another I received that did not use this technique. 
The crew acted professionally and cleanly.  I am very pleased with the job and would recommend them.

Paul was responsive, easy to work with and I think the repair is pretty good quality.   I didn't realize cutting out asphalt and replacing would be so expensive, but MHT price was competitive and I iiked dealing with Paul better than larger companies.

Our driveway needed to be repaved and the four inch lip at the garage needed to be addressed. Our house is on a corner and there was a cracked and patched concrete walkway from the street to the front door. The garage is on the other street and there was no walkway to the front. The crew removed the concrete walkway and laid brick. They cut a path through the lawn from the driveway to the front, added gravel and laid another brick walkway. The asphalt driveway was hand done, i.e. they did not use a spreader. They heightened the area near the garage door such that the lip is now a much more reasonable half-inch. Previously it appeared as though the driveway sloped toward the garage; by laying the asphalt by hand they changed the slope so that drainage will flow toward the street and the side. To finish they spread loam and seeded the areas near their work. They also left two five-gallon pails of stone dust so that the spaces appearing through natural settlement can be refilled. One neighbor has already spoken with Paul about doing some work.

They arrived on time, went to work and removed the old driveway, dug out the turn out area, added 12 inches of gravel then four inches of asphalt for the surface.  Once completed they added fill around the edges and cleaned up everything.  They asked if we wanted some of the soil from the turn out, which we did, and they placed it where we asked. 

Very much exactly what we wanted to have done.  The company is very professional and I would be happy to use them again.

Good communication is essential to being happy with the work. This is a very good contractor to work with. He and his coworker were great.
