Over the course of the approximately 60 days it took to complete the transaction Jean displayed an increasing level of incompetence. She was a terrible communicator and talked in such a way that she would constantly try to talk over you. It made speaking with her difficult. The times we did speak were peppered with doom and gloom statements about the home buying process. She often referred to the final few days before the closing as the time when the $#%! hits the fan rather than politely informing us of the potential need for last-minute documentation and what to expect during that time.
It was not a comforting or pleasant experience to us because we were new to the home buying experience. In fact, we mentioned on several occasions including our first meeting with Jean that we were new to the process. We made it clear that we did not know what to expect and we were relying on her for guidance. We made a big mistake. For example, at one point we required copies of the condo association documents for our loan application and we requested her to get them. Not only did it take weeks to get the documentation but Jean kept pushing the idea of using a website that offers the documents but charges $100 dollars for them instead of following up with the seller, condo association and/or management company where we could get them for free. She finally relented and "found" us free copies though I was so angry by that time that I could barely contain myself. When we spoke about it on the phone later and I had calmed down she cried and raved like a lunatic. Needless to say it made me extremely uncomfortable and it was at that point that I decided to limit our conversations to emails and texts as much as possible.
Her incompetence continued all the way to the closing day. On the day of the closing she called us approximately 15 minutes before we were to meet with the closing lawyer and pass papers to inform us of our option for a last minute walk-through before we signed. She never mentioned before this time that we were allowed to do a last minute walk-through and it was nearly impossible to do it at that point considering we were just walking into the closing meeting. She should have mentioned it much sooner to give us time to consider it. And as no surprise to us she also failed to show up for the closing meeting.
Our overall opinion is this. The course of the whole transaction to purchase a condominium in Hampton, NH, from beginning to end took approximately 60 days. During that time Jean McCoole of Keller Williams Coastal Realty worked with us as a buyer's agent to purchase the condo but during the whole process displayed ever increasing incompetence and disregard for appropriate behavior and professionalism. We have no intention of ever doing business with Jean McCoole of Keller Williams Realty again.
