During the planning to replace a summer cottage, someone had suggested that a nearby - hundreds or years old -enormous Pine tree be taken down before the cottage was replaced to avoid a much higher price if we waited until after the new cottage was built. I called and spoke with Micum of Cornerstone Tree Care. I had gotten his name from Angie's list. He had very good reviews and I particularly liked that one review said that he mentioned that a tree was healthy and he did not see the need to cut it down. I felt this was a good sign that he was not just looking for "the next job". As our tree is a "fixture" on the property and we were already going to need to take down many other trees, we really wanted to keep the tree if it was healthy. Micum spoke at length with me and understood our situation. He is very knowledgeable and I could tell that he is honest. He arranged to come to the property and even spoke with our construction manager to understand the full extent of the construction planned. Since we are in Strafford which is a bit of a distance from his offices, I offered to pay him for his consultation. The result was that Micum assured us that the tree was healthy and felt that it should be good for many years to come (a relief!). He also provided a very detailed report of his observations and also made recommendations on how to protect the tree roots during construction. I shared his detailed information with many members of my family and we all agree that contacting Cornerstone for the evaluation was a good move and we would definitely recommend contacting Cornerstone for a true Arborist's opinion!

Micum and his crew did a great job. They showed up exactly when they said they would and worked quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up thoroughly and even cleaned up some other branches and leaves that had been there before their work. They were all super friendly and were happy to trim a few branches back a little more when I asked, even though it required them to pull their equipment back out.

It went very well. Micum came out to assess the job and he gave very thoughtful advice about which trees to remove and which to trim to give the optimal space and lighting conditions necessary for my goals. The quote was very reasonable and the job was completely quickly. Micum was very pleasant, professional and helpful to work with.

I have used Micum's team for two different tree removal jobs on our residential property. Each time his crew did a great job. Very informative, punctual, and courteous. They were careful to minimize damage to the property, and cleaned up very well. I was also very impressed by their safety techniques and modern equipment. This is very well-run local company

He told me I didn't need to do anything. He was very honest. He told me what to watch for when the other 2 people who came out were happy to tell me it would cost me hundreds of dollars to do work. So he's got my business and to tell me that I don't need to have work done right now is pretty cool and he was right. Nothing has happened to the trees. They're fine. A neighbor was concerned and thought that the trees might fall.

Knowing what to expect from certain trees with certain structures in specific locations is a key element to tree risk assessment. Too many trees are removed because of a vague "what if" mentality and an overemphasis of the potential consequences of failure. Micum is very professional, called ahead to confirm, and arrived when he said he would. Team did a great job, working efficiently but carefully. Cleaned up all the debris, and chipped and removed all extraneous branches.

Micum and his team were great to work with.
He was quick to schedule an appointment and to provide an estimate.
We were working with a deadline as we had our house scheduled to
be painted and he was able to work us into the schedule on short
notice. Work was completed efficiently and professionally and they
worked very clean. Having never had this type of work done I was
pleasantly surprised by the estimate and very comfortable
with Micum's knowledge.

This is an entirely professional company. They are very responsive to customer requirements and deal with their customers in a polite and professional manner. They work in a safety conscious manner, they clean-up after themselves, their prices are reasonable for the quality of the work they do, and they are absolutely reliable.
I have used their services since they first went into business, probably 15 years ago, and have never had a problem with their work, or their people. I have used them for big jobs like removal of storm damaged oak trees to simple limb pruning, and nave never had a problem with their work.

I have been happy with them. They are very professional and prompt. Their pricing is good. Their service was very good. There was nothing that I didn't like. All of the workers were great. The thing that I really liked was the fact that they work with you. I wanted them to take the tree down but not cut it up. They were very accommodating.

Micum, the owner is a really decent guy and seriously knowledgeable about what he does. He promptly returned my call for a request for quote and he showed up on-time to meet for the estimate. When he looked at my trees and my lot he actually free-climbed some pretty high trees to check the trees health and took lots of notes. He then promptly responded via e-mail with a written quote and gave me a rough timeslot of when he could do the work. I hired him and again he showed on the day and time he said and I was impressed with his operation, he had two trucks, a big truck with the box on it which towed a chipper, and a boom truck he had a full crew and all wore protective gear and they knew what they were doing. Micum directed the trucks into place and he started in on trimming and removal. He did a great job and my neighbors were appreciative they did not even drop a branch on his driveway and took great care throughout the job. I went out to pay him and he realized his crew drove off without raking the little branches from my driveway and asked if he could use my rake and raked it up and made it all look clean. His price was a few dollars cheaper then his quote and would definitely recommend or use him again.
