I gave Len a rough drawing of the footprint I wanted my house to have and what each part of the house should contain. He proceeded to make drawings. I would look at his drawings and suggest changes. He would decide what would work. This went back and forth until both he and I were happy were happy with the results. We also would go back and forth on such details as the spacing for the rooms and hallways, the windows and their placement, the mouldings, what materials to use, what lighting, placement of switches, even down to small details like the doorknobs. The end result was that I am totally happy with the end result. He has a unusual eye for what was beautiful and pleasing to me and a desire to cater to my wishes. An article with pictures of the house was in Home Planning Ideas, a publication of Better Homes and Gardens, Fall/ Winter 2005. I've been living in this home for more than 10 years and not a day goes by without my thanking my lucky stars for such a beautiful home! When I want to make additions, I call Len up for help and he's always there for me.
