M & C COMPLETE CONCRETE

We ordered firewood from Chauncey in July, 4 cords for $800. He stopped by the house for cash up front because he said that he needed to get to it first before the loggers and it would be delivered in 2 weeks. Needless to say, 2 weeks came and went, 4 weeks came and went. When my husband called, he gave excuse after excuse about why it wasn't here. By September 1st we still had no wood so my husband asked for a full refund. He said "check's in the mail". He only lives in Newport and we in Sutton so it should take no more than 2 days to get a check. By Friday, still no check at which point he admitted he never sent one. For 2 weeks he has been making promises that his wife or brother would bring the check by thus and such a day. On Saturday by husband said if he didn't have it by 9am, he was going to the authorities. At 9 on the dot, his brother pulled along side our house and laid on the horn. My husband went out and was given half of his money back with the promise that by Monday he'd have the rest. It is now Wednesday and he has said he doesn't have the money so now we are forced to take him to court!
