Chucks Auto Service

I made an appointment to have Chuck's Auto Service install a remote control starter on my vehicle. When I went to pick the car up, Chuck told me he'd installed the starter but could not find the wire that let him bypass the anti-theft device. He then said that the remote starter would work but, if I tried to start the car while locked, all the alarms and horn would sound. His solution was to not lock my car, or leave the car there for him to continue working on it. I agreed to that, with the understanding that I would call at 9 this morning to make arrangements to pick up the car. Well, I called, but no one answered. I called again at 5 pm, and his wife said he would "call me later." After a couple of hours, he returned my called - highly indignant - saying that I had not called him. He was much more interested in yelling at me than telling me the status of my vehicle. He eventually told me - between shouts - that this was his "family time" and he had agreed to work on the car out of the goodness of heart. When I pressed him about his progress on my fixing the problem, he admitted that he had not worked toward fixing it, again yelling about the goodness of his heart and his family time. I contend that I paid for a service, was not told in advance that installing the remote starter would leave my vehicle vulnerable to theft, and he volunteered to meet me on Saturday - I didn't ask him to. While I applaud his dedication to family time, I wish that dedication extended to his customers. I will never use his service again.
