In my opinion it saved me from having to buy new carpets! Keith and Ethan did a great job and they both were very professional and friendly. The carpet is 100% better. I'm so glad I had my appointment today with Great Bay.

Chris picked up an oriental runner and and 8x10 oriental rug within a day of my calling. The 8x10 had dog urine on it that had soaked through and covered the opposite side of the rug as well. The smell was quite strong. Chris called back one day later stating that the rug was a and quot;total lossand quot;; that it would be impossible to clean and ever get the urine smell out. He was very apologetic that we would have to dispose of the rug.
He returned the damaged rug along with the runner that was clean and looked great. Charged me a very reasonable $40 for the runner.
Feeling that I had nothing to lose, I hung the damaged rug outside, applied mild detergent to it, scrubbed at it and rinsed with cold water by a hose. Did this 3 times and then let it sit out in the shade to dry. It is now back in the house with no smell at all.
I realize that the company believed they were correct. However, perhaps they were not willing to repeat their washings three times as I did. Am glad that I didn't just take it to the dump as it is one of my favorites.
Will go elsewhere in the future.

Chris answered the phone promptly when we called, and he provided an estimate on the phone for the cleaning of our two area carpets (8x10 and 9x13). He was also willing to explain the cleaning process his company uses which included hanging the carpets to dry after cleaning. There was no additional charge for pick-up and delivery. Chris was able to pick up our carpets within a couple days of my call, and he arrived at our home right on schedule. He looked over the carpets, and we identified areas where more spot cleaning was needed. Chris was concerned about the possibility of one of the dark colors on an Oriental running, and we gave him permission to do a test area before doing the entire carpet. Chris helped us roll the carpets (which involved lifting a couple pieces of furniture), and he carried them to his truck. He also agreed to hold the carpets longer than usual as we were having some work done in our home and would then be away for several days. When we returned home, I called, and he was able to deliver the cleaned carpets the next day. Again, he arrived right on time (perhaps even a little ahead of schedule). The carpets looked like new, and the Oriental had cleaned up beautifully with no running of the dark color. There was one area of our other carpet that was very dirty, and he told us his men had worked especially hard to get the soil out. I think they did a fabulous job. Chris honored a 10% off online coupon from his website, and the total cost for cleaning both these carpets was $207 after the discount. We were very pleased with all aspects of doing business with Great Bay Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning, and we would definitely use them again.
