Description of Work: Hired to fully diagnose and repair cause of ice build-up in my freezer, and the freezer not being cold enough to store food. He did exactly what I had planned to do myself before being sidelined by a foot injury. Removed entire back of freezer and used 2 hair dryers to thaw the coils, then installed a new temperature sensor of some sort.

Description of Work: Jerry came to the house on the same day a repaired my washing machine! Good job all around!

Description of Work: Front loading washer was not functioning properly. Have used Sirois a few times over the past 30 years. This time forgot about him and went to Angie's list for recommendations and there was his name. He returned my call within 10 minutes and arrived 2 hours later. My problem was an unevenly balanced machine and was quickly fixed. It was a minor problem but definitely affeccted the machine's performance. I was just thrilled I did not need a new part and had to wait etc., as I had wet clothes in the machine.

Description of Work: To begin, my initial call was treated with courtesy and professionalism. I was asked for the model/SN of the washer that wasn't working and asked to describe what the problem was. I was told that Mr. Sirois would contact me as soon as he got in to make an appointment. He got back to me a short time later and we made an appointment. He arrived on time and went right to work. My machine is up high on a raised floor. It's also on top of a drawer that was optional - so it's high. The set-up makes it very hard to pull it out. Mr. Sirois did a mental run-through before beginning and asked a few questions. From this he concluded that the machine was shutting down mid-cycles because it wasn't able to get cold water. It was able to get hot and would work until it was required to change to warm or cold. Once we made sure the water hadn't been shut off somehow, he climbed up on top of the machine and reached down for the hose. It was a lot of effort and I must say I was impressed! As he suspected, the filter on the hose was coated with sand and minerals.(Our well had run dry and trying to do a wash was hit and miss. Now I know better because the sand from the low well is what caused the problem.) We cleaned it. He replaced a washer and then the filter. Climbed back up and with heroic effort put everything back together. You can't differentiate with this front washer and so he tested it on a cycle that hadn't worked before. It worked great. His expertise and experience caused very little disturbance in the house. Usually the first thing repairmen do is pull something away from the wall. I will call Mr. Sirois any time I need a repair that he's willing to do.
