Barton Construction showed up on time and did a professional job.

I called Bart, the owner, on the recommendation of a friend, after finding that water was seeping into my finished basement, damaging the roof, walls and flooring. They arrived the next day, with his trusted employee, Dave. They quickly found that the leak was due to a failed perimeter drain (original construction issue) After pulling out a tub / shower unit, the found that water was flowing in from the top of the foundation, seeping down the interior of the foundation, and into the floor, wall joists and in some areas, the dropped ceiling tiles. They assured me it wasn't a septic issue, and was an easy fix - but it required digging up about half of my foundation to find the area where the drain had failed (it was partially collapsed, likely from the original construction. And - a chipmunk had chewed its way into the drain, nesting in the same spot. So - no drainage around the foundation, and with the snow melt, water climbed the sealed portion or my foundation, and was leaking above the sealant.
They quickly repaired it, worked with my landscaper to save the foundation plants, and then repaired all of the interior damage.
Forgot to mention - as this was going on, I was undergoing joint replacements, and really struggling with getting from my car to the house. Stairs were almost impossible and my prognosis was that a wheelchair was in my near future. Bart was great in understanding that I couldn't easily climb the stairs to see the work in the basement.
Seeing my dilemma, Bart talked about replacing the stairs with ramps. As I was planning on having my garage built the following year, I decided to incorporate improved access to my house, with ramps, a deck and a new garage, with future capability of adding a lift to get me from the garage to the deck, and into my home.
Bart designed, prepared the permits, worked with the town, and built an outstanding new part of my home. We could not be happier with the outcome, or the process. They were great to work with and I highly recommend them.

Bart was very responsive right from the start. He got a feel for what we were trying to accomplish and gave us a variety of options in different price ranges. What impressed me the most is that he brought in a plumber to confirm that the solution he offered could be done. There were some tricky plumbing situations that were brought forward right from the start. This turned out to be very important because all other contractors just reassured us it could be done. Had we gone with one of them we would have been mid project before those were uncovered. He always encouraged us to think long term and not always go for the quick fix.
Bart partnered with us the whole time, offered multiple suggestion throughout the project ( some we did and others we didn't). He coordinated a variety of specialist and constantly managed any work he did not personally do himself. The quality of the work was beyond our expectations. We would highly recommend Barton Construction to anyone.

It could not have gone better - Bart Barton and crew rebuilt my basement bathroom and spare room damaged by water and mold, and then built me a new garage. Overall - great quality work, and on budget. My best experience with a contractor - ever! He is the best communicator of any contractor I've dealt with - calls with updates, let you know in advance if they won't be there for some reason, and makes the owner a full partner, explaining what's happening throughout, and offering option, with the impact to budget, and other choices that could reduce the cost. He is a partner in the project.
