"When I arrived at the Member's home to seal coat the driveway, I noticed, as I pulled up, that one edge of the driveway, where the loam and grass had been the day before, was dug up and pulled away from the driveway' edge. I told them I had never had that done before and that its not typical to pull the loam and grass away from an edge. I told them that since they had done that I would seal coat the exposed edge. When the job was done and they were paying me for the job I told them that if it happened to rain and there was any back splash to take the hose right away and clean it off. The Member called me to tell me that they had to use the hose because there was back splash because it happened to rain that night. She said they were able to remove the back splash with the water from the hose. Unfortunately though there were two spots, up by the garage, that had not dried (cause of the back splash). When I arrived to seal the two areas that did not dry in time, before the rain, I noticed that the other edge of the driveway was now dug up and loam and grass was pulled away from the other side of the driveway. I sealed the two areas that did not dry properly and I sealed the now exposed other edge of the driveway. I did not noticed any back splashed or spots of sealer. As I was leaving, the Member came out of the house with a bucket of sealer and he started to seal his driveway. I feel they are upset because I did not pull the loam and grass away from the edges myself. I have never done that in the twenty years of seal coating. The sealer that did get on the concrete and walkway they said they were able to get cleaned with the hose and there was nothing there when I went back to seal the two areas. I would like for the Member's to check you-tube or research online...edges are not usually done especially disturbing your loam and grass, to seal the edge of a driveway is not necessary and is not done."
