BUYER BEWARE --This was a rental unit and tenants were scheduled to move in within a week which Mr. Peavey informed me wasn't a problem in meeting that timeline.
After three days, Mr. Peavey said that he had finished the w/d hookup except that he still had to add the vent to the dryer which, he would get to before the stack able w/d unit was delivered and installed by Best Buy.
Mr. Peavey moved on to the bath room where he removed the shower, as well as, the flooring and toilet (which were not part of the proposal). He said he would be back to finish the work when the special order 32"shower was in but, it had already been 2 weeks and it was still not in. Interestingly enough, I had seen a 32" shower at home depot, when questioned he said that wasn't a good fit for my unique bathroom.
My 32 inch special order shower finally arrived! Mr. Peavey  brought it to my investment home but, he chose to open it outside stating that there was more room outside then inside. It was a very windy day and as a result, the wind took the shower unit out of his hands and dropped it onto the cement severely damaging it. He said he will have to special order another one but needed me to pay for it since he didn't have the funds and that his supplier wouldn't warranty a unit that he damaged. In the interim, I had called other plumbers to see if they could take over the project but after looking at the mess that Mr. Peavey started, they said he should finish it because they would have to charge me so much more to undo what he had already done. I felt pressure and that I didn't have other options so, I paid for another shower unit.
One week later, Best Buy arrived with my new washer/dryer but they said that they couldn't connect it to the hookups because the hookups were never connected to the existing drainage system in the cellar. I went into the cellar to check it out and sure enough, pipes from the washing machine had  been sent down through the flooring and then that is it, Mr. Peavey never connecting them to the existing drainage system as per his proposal. The Best Buy representative said that if he had connected the washing machine and then tested it, it could have caused an electrical fire. In addition, the representative also informed me that the dryer vent pipe was also not installed to the outside so they couldn't connect the dryer unit either.
At this point in time I reached out to Mr. Peavey, via text since he wasn't answering my calls, he text back that he would finish the bathroom shower install when the new special 32" shower arrives from his supplier. He also stated that when he comes to
install the shower, he would also finish the washer/dryer hookup and would connect the stack able to it. He said that his supplier would put a rush order on the shower and he would keep me updated. I was pleased that he seemed to finally be taking ownership of this project and communicating to me, at least by text. Unfortunately, that was the last communication that I had with Mr. Peavey, he didn't follow up with me at all, he even went as far as to ignore my phone calls and text which I thought was very unprofessional. This certainly was a disaster from the start but he could have turned this around by getting and installing the shower, finishing the w/d hook up and keeping his customer informed on the progress being made.
This projected two week project was now going on 4 weeks and Thanksgiving Day was just around the corner. I decided to text Mr. Peavey that I was going to hire someone else to finish the work that he was suppose to have done. I did find someone to take on this nightmare project and you guessed it, they purchased the shower from Home Depot and the entire work was completed within 2 days.
I hired Mr Peavey, D/B/A Abbotshire plumbing & Heating LLC, after my boyfriend at the time and I met with him and felt that he was polite, professional, appeared knowledgeable and that he held a  licence in both Maine and NH, (NH # 4070, Maine #MS90012085). He also had given us personal references which we called and the references were good. Now I have to say that it's hard to tell if the references that he gave to us were actual customers of his or his friends and family. Unfortunately, I didn't know about Angie's list before hiring Mr Peavey but I was referred to Angie's list after this incident and because of Angie's list and customer reviews, I have avoided other nightmare projects from happening. Thanks Angie!

Heating and Air Conditioning Service
$2,900
This licensed plumber contracted to install a heating system in my new home, which I am building myself - he took a deposit of $2900.00 and agreed to deliver a new boiler & two oil tanks, the following day - he cashed the check the same day , and disappeared - would not answer phone calls - went to his home after 3 weeks - contacted his mother -  he phoned me - offered no explanation for delays - I told him he was fired, as there was no boiler & tanks delivered - I wanted my money back - he eased me over a period of weeks - I contacted the milton , N.H.police and they informed me I would have to sue him for the return of my $2900   It is now 5-6 months later, and I will take him to court to get a judgement for  the return of my deposit.
