Don Champion is one of the most qualified and pleasant contractors I have ever worked with. His crew is a well-oiled machine that works as if in a ballet. Everyone knew their jobs and payed attention to detail. Quality was a priority and it was clear that nothing was overlooked. When unpredictable problems occurred, they were taken care of without a problem. The final project was the Mona Lisa of driveways. Finally, the pricing was totally fair. I recommend Champion Paving without reservation.

Don and his team at Champion Paving were consummate professionals. Though their bid came in somewhat higher than other contractors, it was worth the extra cost. They thoroughly explained the process and provided comprehensive written plans. They were the only ones to provide references. They were very responsive in the lead-up to the work. They accommodated a last-minute change to the scope of work I sent to them with no problem at all. They came on-time and actually finished a half-day ahead of schedule, doing a fine job on our long and somewhat complicated driveway that has some challenges, such as huge buried boulders and tight turns. A year later, it looks great and we get lots of compliments on the driveway. I have already recommended them to two people looking for paving services.

The Champion crew did a great job on the date scheduled – removed the old cracked paved driveway, noting that the original surface was pretty thin in areas, removed several large rocks from the original bed, regraded adding two large loads of crushed gravel and laid two layers of asphalt down perfectly butted to the paver block walkway and to the floor edge of the two garage doors. New driveway laid on the exact footprint of the original with no disturbance of the lawn; the edges and curves carefully sculpted. Don Claxton ran the bobcat, the paver, and the roller and his crew worked hard and with care.

Completed on schedule and budget as discussed. I did not shop for the lowest bidder so don't have anything to compare to cost wise.

Very well. They completed the job exactly as requested and quicker than expected. The work performed was top notch with no areas for water to puddle. We are very pleased with the job.

The job was done professionally and quickly, and there are no low spots anywhere for puddles to form. We love the job that was done and would recommend them to anyone.

Went fantastic. They arrived at the time they said they would. The owner was onsite the entire time the work was being done. They got the job done quicker than we had expected. Everyone was polite and professional. The walkway was all manual work. They had to dig up blocks on a very long walkway. They had 5 people working on that and had it done within 2 hours. They even stacked all of the blocks where we asked them to. They did a great job and would recommend them to anyone who needs their driveway redone.

The owner and his team were a pleasure to work with. Professional and punctual, and my driveway looks fantastic! His estimate was $800.00 lower than a previous estimate we'd received for the same job. He showed up exactly on time to give us the estimate, and on the morning when the work was supposed to begin, he and his crew were there at 6:45 am. They finished the entire driveway replacement, as well as the new turnout, by 4:30 the same day, and it looks beautiful! We couldn't be happier.

Our experience with Champion was great. It was a bit of a shot in the dark at first as I couldn't find a whole lot of information about Champion compared to some of the other companies, but after talking with them during the estimate I gained confidence in them and their price was considerably lower than some of the bigger players in the area. Their estimate was the main deciding factor for me, but I wouldn't have gone with them if I thought the quality would suffer.
So far the work done has be great. They arrived on time and work pretty fast. We have a fairly large driveway up a hill and they removed, graded, and paved with binder in less than 2 days.
We will have Champion back to do the finish coat next season once all the other construction is done and I'll follow up with another review. The detail and quality should be more noticable with the finish coat. It doesn't matter as much with the binder.
I have a seen a couple other driveways and roads paved by Champion and they look great. These guys know what they're doing when it comes to paving. They just don't do much in terms of marketing.
Give 'em a shot. I'll be recommending them to anyone I know looking for paving.

The call to set up the appointment went well. We had to reschedule our original date due to having our house painted at the same time. The were happy to accommodate our request to delay. The crew arrived early on the day of demolition of our driveway. A team of four men arrived and quickly removed our old driveway. We requested that they run some water tubing under the new driveway to accommodate our desire to put in underground sprinkler heads. They were happy to do so. They spend most of the day inputting the new driveway. They did an amazing job - the driveway is beautiful and makes our house look brand new. We will be hiring Don and his team this summer to reseal our beautiful driveway.

I had Champion completely remove my old, 15' x 60' driveway and replace it. They arrived exactly when they said they would on Day One and spray-painted where I wanted the new driveway (not just replacing but I added a pad off to the side). I also wanted the street-end to be more narrow (12') and then widen near the garage.

They found many, many large rocks after removing the old asphalt (the cause of many frost heaves I am sure). They also removed about 8 inches of sandy soil in preparation for gravel that they packed in place. Finally a driveway with the correct and quot;baseand quot; underneath two courses of asphalt!

They removed the old asphalt and sandy soil in separate truck loads, as they have to dispose of each in a different location; not sure if that is common practice, but since most of it can be re-used/recycled, it made a lot of sense.

They also layed-out some conduit with outdoor electrical wiring (that I had purchased) across the driveway before compacting the gravel - I plan on putting in a second street lamp in the future, so that was much appreciated.

In total, there were four workers on the job: Don, the owner, did most of the heavy equipment operation (Bobcat for tearing up the old driveway and lowering the grade for the gravel). All were very friendly and they knew their roles and what/when to do them. You could tell they had worked together before.

You can also tell they enjoy doing a good job, as they were extremely detail-oriented throughout the process. I would not hesitate to recommend Champion Sealing and Paving to anyone looking for a company with an extraordinary attention to detail and excellent results!

Lastly, there was no and quot;that'll cost extraand quot; at any time during the process. Don provided a quote and stuck to his number.
