I have been very happy with MET's work. Mark, the owner, came out himself both times to go over what work we wanted to have done and to give us estimates. One thing that I really appreciated was that if he thought something was a bad idea, even if it was something that he could get paid more for, he came right out and told me that he thought it was a bad idea and explained his reasons in detail. In our older home, I had wanted our picture window taken out and a bay window put in. Mark told me he didn't think that would be a good idea, and explained and showed me why. I stuck with a picture window based on his expertise, and was happy that I did. In our newer home, we had a master bathroom that had an old tiled shower that leaked whenever someone stood in the shower. This was something that the inspection company, prior to the purchase of the house, was not able to detect. We only realized that it leaked after living in the house for about a month and noticed drips coming down through the light fixture in our foyer. We called ten companies to come look at our bathroom. Only seven of those called us back. Only four of those came to give us an estimate, and three of them actually said that they wouldn't do the work because they wouldn't make enough money on it. MET was the only one to come in and say that they were willing to do the work, and Mark noticed right off the bat that we would have to expand the bathroom in order renovate it. The tiled shower was kitty-corner and the door into the shower was very narrow. I did research...we would have had to have a door specially made to fit in that spot (and if I remember properly it would have been inadequate and wouldn't have passed inspection). The old bathroom sink was sooo tiny I think it would have been a better fit in a preschool, and it was stuck in another corner of the bathroom, so that if we weren't careful brushing our teeth, we would smack our foreheads on a ceramic soap dish inset in the wall. We ended up having to take out about 18" or so of the master bathroom closet and completely reconfigure the bathroom to fit in a standard shower, toilet and a small bathroom vanity. My ONLY problem with all of the work that MET has done, is that the bathroom floor has settled a fraction of an inch and we have a VERY minor, practically unnoticeable, crack in a couple of the floor tiles. I only noticed it because I thought it was a fine hair that was stuck on the floor behind the toilet. I'm not upset enough about it to have it fixed. Also, every MET employee that has done work on my houses has been very polite and considerate. And they have cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day. I remember a guy walking around the outside of my old house with a huge magnet on a stick sweeping it all around the house to make sure that there were no nails on the ground. They were very careful of the landscaping and did no damage to it at all, even with all the work that they had to do.
