After obtaining several estimates from carpet and upholstery cleaners (large and small), I selected Steam Kings. All of the estimates for the work were in the same range. When I asked the Steam Kings' owner, Tim, why I should select his company over a nationally-known carpet cleaning business with a similar estimate, he cited his 10 years of experience in the carpet cleaning field and (politely) noted that the same could not be said for many of his competitors. He also emphasized that he personally did the work, using a helper as needed. Based on this information as well as information from the Steam Kings website ( which provides a detailed description of Tim's cleaning process as well as testimonials from customers), we selected Steam Kings. Tim and his employee arrived on time for the job in a well-kept truck.  They were very neat and polite. They were very agreeable/flexible about moving large pieces of furniture and asked only that we remove smaller breakable items from the areas to be cleaned.   They got right to work and worked steadily, completing the job in three hours.  We were very pleased with the results. The price charged for the job was consistent with the estimate. There was absolutely no up-selling or coupon gimmicks. Given the smoothness of the operation, the great results, and the reasonable cost of the work, my wife and I agreed that, in the future, we would use Steam Kings yearly  for carpet and upholstery cleaning.
