RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE SVC INC

I have filed an official complaint with the state regarding this agency. I was signed into/ locked into 1 type of mortgage at a certain rate that they then (with 5 days to closing) rescinded when the market bounced and rates jumped. They engaged in unethical bait and switch, and raised my rate by 1/2 a percentage point, which constitutes a significant monthly jump in payment. Given I wouldn't be able to secure alternate financing in a tight window, they knew I had no choice but to take the alternate loan they offered or walk away from the condo purchase. While competing for my business they were very communicative, accessible and accommodating. After I agreed to use them (ironically because of competitive closing cost rates--several other banks offered me the same loan terms and interest rate), they were difficult to get in contact with, sloppy, and ultimately absolved themselves of any responsibility for their actions. The organization is deplorable to work with.

Ravi and Tina moved mountains for me. RMS was the second company I used when getting my mortgage. I bought a short sale property and the first time around with a different mortgage company, the deal fell apart 2 days before closing because there was a second lien on the unit that nobody but the sellers knew about until it was too late. I agreed to stay in the deal to make it work and when the seller's bank finally agreed to the short sale a second time, they gave me only 3 weeks to secure a mortgage. I called 3 other places before getting in touch with Ravi who was the only one willing to try to make it work. The moment I said I wanted to work with RMS, Ravi and Tina sprung into action and went above and beyond for me (and my relatively paltry sum of money) and managed to make the closing date in exactly 3 weeks. I can't say enough good things about Ravi and Tina. They were very responsive, and great advocates for me. I've recommended them to everyone I know who is in the market.
