On June 5, the owner Ryan came with the man who was to do the work. He power washed the house which left a mess of paint chips everywhere! I was told that the mess would be cleaned up some each day until it was gone. This did not happen. Paint chips blew everywhere. Some blew away. Some were tracked in the house, garage, and the cars. They also blew all over both of my neighbors' properties. Over the next few weekends it rained so there was no work done and no time was ever made up. At this point, I had already paid 1/3 of the proposal, as requested, $1450.
On June 21, I received a call from the owner of RES, Ryan, telling me he had to let the man doing our house go because things had gone very wrong on another job and he could not be trusted. I was understanding that our original time schedule would need to be adjusted and Ryan agreed that he should be able to complete the job by the end of July.
No other communication occurred until I emailed for a new schedule on July 11. On July 12, I was told he could not continue the job. He was too busy and we can call it even for what we paid and the work completed.
I believe this is extremely unprofessional. I do not consider that I received the appropriate amount of work for what was paid. He dropped off the paint that he purchased. I was originally told it would be California but it was Benjamin Moore. I do not consider Benjamin Moore to be of the same quality as what I expected. Also, there was not enough paint to complete the job.
Do yourself a favor and find another company. Don't make the mistakes that we made and hire RES Painting. I have emails documenting all the information and dates that I presented here. It is all true.
The good news is that is that we were able to hire another company who just started this past Monday, August 1. It is 4 days into the job and I see paint on my house. So, 2 months after the job was started it will finally be completed--by another company.
