J.A. Longden Construction

We hired Jim Longden in 2023 to install flooring in our dining room, kitchen, and downstairs bathroom. He also installed a vanity, sink, and toilet for us. He claimed he was capable of doing that work and we hired him in good faith. He made some egregious errors which caused flooding and water damage that was discovered in 2024. Uber our toilet the blocking was gone and the hole under our toilet was too big. He also never sealed the toilet in the floor so you could just wiggle it around in the bathroom floor! A professional contractor would never make these mistakes. Water leaked underneath our bathroom, kitchen, and dining room floors and they all had to be torn out. We had to pay for the repairs out of our own pocket so we are currently $30,000 in debt. We are still fighting with his insurance to pay for this! DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN.

Lets bring this up to date. Jim used to be very dependable. Now he accepts jobs, schedules jobs but does not perform the work nor even notify you that he will not be there. Not only that, but he doesn't return your phone calls when you call to find out the status of the work he promised to do. Hire him ONLY if you want to deal with unnecessary aggravation and delays. Instead, hire someone dependable.

I was looking to have an in law second floor kitchen done, and had been searching for awhile for a contractor to do the cabinet installation and then I found Jim Longden . I challenge anyone to find a contractor better than Jim Longden. He responded quickly to do an estimate, was professional, personable, and did a great job in a short amount of time for a price that was very affordable. Jim told me he could do it in one day, and it took him one day. He gave me an affordable price, and stuck to that price. He was clean in his workspace, no mess, and was respectful of the existing structure, like the hard wood floor. If you want something done right, for a great price, and in a timely manner, you'd be hard pressed to find someone better than Jim.

Jim was not only responsive, but helpful through the process as well in helping me understand what was worth the value and what was not worth spending the extra money. Was honest and professional.

Both Jim and Jeff are excellent carpenters both with an eye for detail. I would not hesitate to recommend J.A. Langden to anyone

Both Jim and Jeff did a great job! They did a deck in the back of the house and rebuilt 2 sets of stair in the front. They were there everyday except when it rained hard. They finished the job early despite this and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of carpentry work in or outside the house.

They showed up on time and did a great job on my project. They were very quick to respond to any inquiries on my part. The project looks great. I WOULD definitely hire them again.

We hired Jeff to rebuild a deck for us. He responded to the inquiry timely, gave us a quick quote, finished the job earlier than anticipated and did a great job. I would recommend him and his team for other jobs.

Awesome job. Jim and Jeff are a great team who are easy to work with and can do any construction or remodeling job you have. They updated the whole inside of my house within 3 1/2 weeks. It started with painting the ceilings, walls, new baseboards, New doors, lights, Laminate flooring and rugs. They started the job and few days in I asked about replacing 11 windows in my porch. The price was reasonable and within a few days the windows were in. Then a week in I asked about a new kitchen and within another week the new cabinets and countertops were in. I have a whole house, very happy. I will definitely call them if I need anything else done and will be recommending them to anyone who asks. Great guys.

Absolutely THRILLED with the work. Quick quote, products exactly what I needed including special order of slider with built in blinds and a custom dog door on the other door. As promised regarding date, amount of time and money. They did a BEAUTIFUL job including some extra finish work and cleaned up when done. I cannot say enough good about this. HIGHLY recommended. they went above and beyond! besides great communication, showing up as promised, organized and professional they dug up and replanted a few plants that were in the way of the new deck and spontaneously reattached an outside light that i hadnt gotten to on my project list! so very much appreciated! I would highly recommend and will definitely use again for my other projects coming up! thanks guys!

Very personable, professional service. Either we lucked out of their repsonse time is mach 10, or both!

James was very accommodating, I had several inches of water in my garage, as I use a cane and am not able to get around well James came over in 2hrs and started to work. He discovered the problem was not rain from the storm but run off from the culverts on my road. He had to scrape and shovel silt then hose down my garage. He also replaced a screen on a difficult access window. I will use him again very soon as I have other projects on my list!
