The Internet and intranet performance at my company was becoming
increasingly unstable.  I knew Mark Aronson, the owner of MLANS,  as the
outside IT support for a company I had worked for earlier.  He was
always thorough and worked on a "do it right the first time"
philosophy.
Mark diagnosed the problem as 1) an obsolete router
and 2) improper settings on the part of our service provider
(Comcast).  Once the new router was installed and the proper settings
adjusted, Mark made sure each machine in the office was fully up to date
and configured properly.
I would not hesitate to use MLANS
for any occasional IT support or as an outside IT department.  We are a 5
man office and right now can not afford a full time IT resource.

The computer guy does small businesses. He is not a person who will come to your house. If you have a small business and you need computer support, he is the guy you have to go to. The price varies a little bit depending upon things like how far he has to travel. Last time, the travel was a little over an hour to get to the office. He charged $181 an hour for two hours. He was there for almost three, but didn’t charge anymore. He charged $360 for three hours of work. It was supposed to be for two hours, but he was basically there an extra 45 minutes. He didn’t try and bill us for that. He is going to come back to do other work related to the various laptops and PC’s in the office to make them work better with better security. He is very knowledgeable about cyber security.  He works on a very preventive basis. He says it’s always better to put in the extra effort upfront to prevent a problem from occurring than have to solve the crisis after something happens. If you have a problem with the computer or if you have a virus or something, he will certainly take care of it. His attitude is to do what we can upfront so that we don’t have to worry about it later. I have known him for about 10 years. He has been the computer service guy for a couple of companies that I happened to have worked for. In one case, I recommended him and he was already there in another case. He had been there for years and they liked him. That’s what he does. His range of travel is he goes down as far as typically as Boston and goes up to Concord. He has been doing this for a long time. He is very good at what he does. He is a very honest person and doesn’t give you what you don’t need. His attitude is such that he wants to do as little work as possible; so he wants to do it right the first time. He is a good engineer in that regards. If he does it right the first time, he doesn’t have to sweat it after that. So, that’s what he tries to do. He does a lot of work for certain small businesses. Like for a dentist or an accountant, he will do some bartering for services. He may barter for services between two companies.
