We presented with rash on her stomach and under her front arms which frequently became infected. She was also chewing on her paws and had frequent ear infections. We were given antibiotics and steroids which would clear and start right back up again. The dog was only one year old and we spent a fortune on antibiotics and lab testing to no avail. A very expensive allergy test was ordered and we were told our dog had allergies to grass and trees and that she would have to be on allergy shots the rest of her life.  That didn't fly with us.  I did my own research and decided to change her food. I changed her protein to venison and got rid of the grains. Her infected hives started to clear and her ears were better but she was still chewing her paws like crazy. We took her to an allergist and it was discovered she had a severe fungal infection of her feet and ears. Totally missed by the Vet at Oyster River. Thank goodness we were our dog's advocate. I shutter to think of the damage the misdiagnosis and treatment our dog was given at Oyster River would do to our dog's over all health.  We said bye bye to Oyster River.
Response from Oyster River Veterinary Hospital
"We're sorry to address this review so late, but we've just seen it now. We take great care in making sure that every one of our customers is 100% satisfied and try to go above and beyond for each pet that we serve. We were just doing some checking into the situation and realized that you may have written this review about the wrong clinic as our records and found that only $204.44 was spent at our clinic on services during the year of 2012 under your name. Thank you."

They have been our veterinarians for about 30 years. They are first rate. The doctors are good and caring. They follow up after we have been there to make sure the animal is doing okay and we have not encountered any further problems. Dr. Leslie Agulnik is the doctor we see. She has a real touch with our animals. We had a cat and a lab and she walked us through its last days. She was very good in telling what the options were and in telling us the likelihood of success. She gave us information so we could judge whether it was worth putting resources into it. She is a person I can fully trust with my pets. One thing I have noticed the last time I called; they have a recording that is a sales pitch. I have objected to them about it. I have no idea whether it was modified or not but it just struck me as not being the right thing to do. There is another dental office and they seem to have the sales pitch too.
