Dependable David Reliable Handyman Service

I suppose that if you call yourself "Dependable" right in your name, you have to live up to it, and Dependable David definitely lives up to it. First of all, he answers the phone and gets back to you. Sometimes, this is to tell you that he has no room in his schedule to take on your task. But at least he gets back to you to let you know. And if he does commit to doing work for you, he's there when he says he'll be there. He also does good, solid work. And he listens carefully to what you're asking him to do. If you ask him to be extra neat when painting, he'll be extra neat. If you ask him to tape everything, he'll tape everything. He bills by the hour, so this allows him to be more careful or take extra time to do something just right, if you ask him to. He doesn't need to rush, because he bills by the hour. He also doesn't farm out the work to a bunch of different guys. He shows up himself and does the work. In our case, he ended up swooping in and saving the day after our previous contractor made a royal mess of the job and had to be fired. So far, for us, he has done: --Mudding and painting a large room, including high ceilings and stair wells. --Mudding and painting an entire kitchen. --Installing natural (unpainted) Hickory baseboard molding in our entire 2-story house (including applying polyurethane to the molding before installing). This was an absolutely gigantic job (491 feet of molding), with so many cuts and corners, including some tiny detail areas where the new molding had to mate with existing woodwork (like around the staircase). --Framing, drywalling, and mudding a new hall closet. He also sourced the door for us. In this case, he only had one free day in his schedule, but he didn't over-promise, and told us that he would only have time to frame/drywall and do the first coat of mud (I would have to finish sanding, mudding, painting, installing the door, and trim myself). And he did exactly what he said he would do. All of this work has been great in terms of quality. David is also a friendly guy. He's fun to talk to. And he seems like the kinda guy you can trust in your home. But most of all... he's dependable!

We hired David for several small projects around our older home. His quotes were extremely reasonable, showed up on time, very professional and offered great advice. All work was completed on time and looks fantastic! We highly recommend him and would hire again in an instant!!!

David did a great job and sure was dependable. He came when he said he would, did what he said he would do and charged what he said he would. He repaired a 20 x 20 foot roof that fell in last winter. Reused as much of the old structure as he could to keep the cost down. I have already hired him for another project.

David was fantastic. We have an old house that needed a huge remodel to the kitchen. He talked with us every step of the way. He removed old cabinets with lead paint, stripped/installed drywall, re-insulated, did all trim/moulding, installed new cabinets and laid a new floor down. Thanks to him we have a brand new kitchen for a fraction of the cost. I will be giving him a call with other rooms in the house!

David was awesome. He hung new drywall ceilings for us and his attention to detail and craftsmanship was excellent. I highly recommend him, and I'm sure I will use him agin in the future.

Our shed is located close to wetland, so it's been slowly shifting through the years. Also needed new roof. All the three contractors who came to see it, had the same work plan but the quotes were very different. We had a very good first impression of David so hired him. He showed up the day he would, he did an excellent job. WISH WE HAD FOUND HIM YEARS BEFORE!

David was excellent. We had him do a wide variety of jobs such as installing wood stair treads, patching walls/ceilings and repairing rotting wood outside. All of his work was done to high standards and he was very mindful of making sure that he cleaned up after he was done. He is very reliable and we felt very comfortable with him in our home. We are extremely glad we found him and will definitely be using him again!

I wish I had found him years ago and look forward to hiring him in the future. He did the job well and solved the problem that came up intelligently and efficiently. He was a pleasure to meet.

We hired Dave based on the reviews on this site and he lived up to his reputation. Excellent carpentry skills, very fair pricing and extremely patient with our evolving plans. He built us a new entryway into our old house along with a new landing and stairs. Dave was able to fit us into his schedule quickly and was friendly and professional. Dave lived up to his name, dependable. I had some odd jobs, faucet, window screen replacement, dryer hose, and door knob. Davie did a great job, and even took his shoes off! He was very helpful. If you want to support your small local business person, hire dependable Dave.

Dave respectfully delayed coming to accommodate us and the holiday season. He was prompt, neat, detail oriented and very courteous. We called him to fix cracks in our ceilings and when one of them reappeared he promptly returned and corrected it. He also accommodated our desire to add another unexpected project to his list.

Dependable Dave is a terrific handyman and certainly lives up to his name. He returns calls promptly and is very professional and easy to get along with. On top of that his prices are very reasonable. Dave is not only very good at what he does but also has 2 unique qualities about him. He can see potential problems that may arise during an installation and has a bit of artistry in him. Example, we installed a security grate on our back slider. Dave found a way for it to be MORE secure and it was placed so that it is pleasing to the eye when not in use. He gets our highest marks and we plan to use him in the future.
