Same Day Computer

On November 24th, I brought in my HP as when I plugged it in, there was no power. After drop off, I received an update that day saying I would need a new power supply. Since this is "proprietary equipment", they needed to order it and charged us $425 on November 25th. I asked them if they ordered it, and the part did not work, if I would receive a refund and they said yes, we just send it back. After the new power supply came in, I received a call on December 1st that it wasn't the power supply, it was the motherboard. At that point, I decided it was not worth the cost to replace the entire motherboard to fix the computer. On the same day, I went back to pick up my computer. I was told that when they send the power supply back, it could take up to 72 hours to receive my funds in my bank account and they would keep $50 for the initial fee of looking at the computer, which is fine. On December 4th, I still had not received my funds back. I waited until Wednesday, December 9th to call to check in on the status of my refund. I was told by an employee that the owner was on break but would let him know immediately that I had not received my funds and they would process the refund. On December 10th, 2020, I called again as I still did not see the funds in my account. When I spoke with an employee, I told him that law enforcement would need to get involved if I did not receive my funds back. The employee then said, "go ahead, call the police. He also said, "obviously you are not our clientele as you are too cheap to afford the repairs." I said, well if my money is not in there by tomorrow, I am calling law enforcement and then hung up. They are a very unprofessional company and are now holding my funds hostage for doing no work at all to my computer. I would stay away at this company at all costs.

They were competent, capable, and even gave one used fan for free when they only had one new one in stock.  There is a $50 Estimate fee which takes an hour to perform, and then you can get a quote to fix, and if you go ahead, you can apply the $50 fee to the repair cost.  In my case one of the fans was behind a water cooler, so changing it was a bit more tricky than normal. They must have been burned on their fees, because they have a horrible fine print contract, but I went ahead anyway.

Quick-had no waiting time.

Didn't fix anything, and they suggested buying one of their new or used computers, since mine wasn't worth salvaging.

Software plus memory upgrade did not fix problem which I had reported - and I was left with a dead machine in which I had invested $310.To add insult to injury - they sold me a HP Pavilion machine for 1200 (less 400 they claimed was return of my expenditure on old machine ) which as soon as I was able to price check on Google turned out to be a $500 value.I rate them an F for the following reasons.
They gave me bad advice in suggesting software/hardware upgrade to machine that didn't address original problem - then sold me an outrageously overpriced computer.  $500 level should have been a serious discount or at least some free software or warranty.
Net/net.  I spend 1110 to get a $500 computer.  When I protested - Manager siad they dont compete with "big box stores"  and refused to further discount or even to add free Office suite.

Took one full week to do and my son moved to Colarado shortly after and sent it in to a local shop there where it cost him less then 1/2 the cost at Same Day Computer Repair & Upgrade in Laconia, NH. I would never use this service again.
