Laconia Monument Company

Our experience was horrible.  At a time in your life when you need sensitivity and communication, it was clear that this company did not want business.  It felt like we were imposing on this company just to have them do their job. 
I worked with Frank Shaw, starting in March, 2013, to design the monument and markers.  After meeting in person, I communicated with him via email, sending possible designs.  The final design was done in mid-June and we hoped to have the monument, markers and cornerstones done and delivered by early August, which Frank indicated was a reasonable expectation .  Frank was always very, very slow to communicate - all the communication had to be initiated by me.  We paid half at the beginning of the work after I approved the plans.  After much pressure from me, the monument and markers were finally delivered to the gravesite closer to the end of August.  The four cornerstones were never delivered or done.  As a result, we have not paid them the balance due on their work and now have no intention of doing so.  (They never billed us anyway.)  It has been nearly 11 months since we started this whole process - and while it took me a couple of months to get the design that I wanted (which is understandable - we did not live in the area and had to communicate via email and phone), there was no follow through.  Frank did not take any initiative at any point on this job - it was like he was just tired of being in this business.  It's a shame because the work that was done was excellent. 
The office/shop looks outdated and dirty, and someone with fresh ideas, a decent computer with design software, and an excellent customer service attitude could turn this business around.
