INDIANA INSURANCE COMPANY

After our insurance kept going up a lot every year we decided to shop around and found a policy for the same benefits for half the cost. We canceled early and changed insurance companies. We received a bill for the balance due for $651.59, I called our agent (Lyman & Sheets) and she told me that Indiana Ins. Co. would do an audit. After the audit was done I received another bill. I called Indiana Ins. Co. directly and asked for an explanation of the charges. I was told that they would get back to me. A couple weeks later I received another bill in the mail. I called again and explained the situation and was told they had no idea what was going on and would call me back. I received no call but got a bill from a collection agency. I called the insurance company again and was told they had no idea what happened and would call me back. Again I received no call from them instead I got a call from an attorney stating to basically pay up or else they would add attorney fees. I told him that I had repeatedly called the insurance company for an explanation of the money owed and have not received a call. He told me "I don't care what you were or were not told, you owe the money". He was very rude and condescending. I filed a complaint with a business rating agency. They responded with a some what explanation of the bill but not exactly how they arrived at the figure but at last I got something. I am sending a check for the total amount minus the $50 reinstatement fee. I would like an explanation for that charge. I would encourage anyone with Indiana Insurance Company to check elsewhere for insurance you are probably paying too much!
