You get what you pay for. Kevin's price was the best, and I soon found out why. We hired Kevin to put down some new loam and hydro seed. We also had him install a sprinkler system in our back yard.
After hydro seeding, there were numerous areas left unseeded. I mean very large areas that were left as just dirt. I had to have him come back and put down seed in those areas by hand which he did only after I refused to pay him the balance until it was straightened out.. A year later and my lawn is still a mess. I have since spent well over $500 in loam and seed to try to get grass to grow in the bare spots, and there were plenty. Not to mention days of my labor.
Next, the sprinkler system. Well, it looks like he just laid the pipe on the ground and covered it with the new loam. He did not dig down to bury it at all. How do I know this? Because when he sent one of his workers over to aerate the lawn to try to get the bare spots to come in, they punched holes in the sprinkler lines everywhere !!! They did repair the damage, but I was not willing to have my yard dug up again to have it done correctly so it will stay as is and I just have to remember to never aerate the lawn again. He also, did not tighten a valve in the sprinkler bow which resulted in the box filling up and water backing into my basement.
Mulch beds turned out ok, but all of the mulch on my property is black and he put down red in the new areas. I am guessing it was left over from another job
Good luck trying to get him to answer his phone or call you back. And if he says he will be at your house on a certain day, don't hold your breath. Twice he was supposed to meet me and never showed and didn't even have the courtesy to call.
Lesson learned, cheaper is definitely not always better.

We had landscaping done to prepare for a pool install. Our land was left in very bad shape by a poor contractor choice. In addition we were ripped off by no soil and no seeding as promised in the written agreement by the poor contractor. What a mess the other contractor made of our yard. We didn't know who to trust. So glad we trusted Dube's. They EXCEEDED expectation on helping to correct the mess in the back yard leveling, putting rocks on hill, as well as awesome soil and hydro seeding job. The yard looks great! Very very pleased! Wish we knew about them way before this. They are worth the money and wait! Outstanding!!!! Thank you Dube's! We absolutely will do business with them again and give them an A+!
