It was excellent! They did the job on New Year's eve. They were prompt, professional, competitive pricing, and the fact the they came out on a holiday was pretty impressive.

It went really well. Rick is very personable and a good listener. He worked with us to stay within our budget and get the most work we could. He kept in touch as the job got closer. The crew was always polite, friendly and efficient. They worked hard, over long, hot days and seemed tireless. Really pleased with the result and would definitely recommend them.

They were great. Mark called within minutes of my request. His team was at our home within hours. They did a great job getting the job done in a timely manner and didn't hurt any of our landscaping in the process. Thank you.

Talbot roofing did an excellent job, they stripped all the shingles.. cleaned up extremely well. The roof looks great, weather barrier to prevent water damage from ice dams and they even put in a ridge vent. Final cost was right on with estimate.. Good price. Great job, great guys.

Talbot roofing replaced our siding as contracted and in a reasonable amount of time.  Though there were a few things that could have been better, the real issue is a lack of follow up after the job.  After more than a year, we still have 1 broken siding board on the front of the house and now we have dirt/stains all over the vinyl trim on all sides of the house.  It seems clear that nail sealant left on the boards has collected dirt and now the trim looks bad.
Bob has shown no indication that he will resolve these issues.   I probably will have to rent a lift and address the problems myself (2-story house).
I guess Angie's will not let me enter a separate review for the roofing job done by Talbot roofing.  Execution and follow up for this job (2013) were excellent and I was very satisfied and that is why I gave the siding job to Talbot.  I would give Talbot high marks for their work on that job.  Experiences a year later on the siding job were very different.

I had a leak in one section of roof in the previous winter (an addition not connected to the main roof). I hired Bob Talbot to replace that and two other sections. The crew he sent was professional and finished in 1 day. The roofs looked great but as soon as the snow started flying I had the same leak only this time it was worse. I realize the winter of 2014/2015 was bad, but i kept the snow off regularly with a roof rake and it would leak with only a tiny amount on the roof, especially when it warmed up. I called Bob immediately to let him know but since it was already cold, and I didn't think it was a good idea to disturb the rubber in cold weather, I told him he could come back in the spring. Since then I have been chasing Bob. He doesn't answer and/or return my calls anymore. Last time I spoke to him over the phone was when I called him from a work number that he didn't know.
I am frustrated and will now have to hire someone else to fix the problem. If you are going to spend your hard earned money on a roofing contractor, my advice is to find someone who will backup their work.

Called them at about 9 in the morning and they were at my home by 1230 the same day. The crew came in, did the work and were on their way by within an hour. They made sure both the ice dams we knew about and maybe one one or two others were completely cleared and we've had no problems since. My landscaping was unfortunately damaged by the falling ice and snow but, with the pitch of my roof, was probably unavoidable.

The first recommendation was my boss' friend.  Then we got recommended again and decided to go with them.  They ran ice shield up to the ridge line seeing how they had enough.  He doesn't put up a front.  He said it could be done in a day and it was.  Good service and value for the money.

Bob and his team showed up on time and cleaned roof completely.

From initial contact through job completion, the service was excellent.
I will use the Talbot construction team again.

I called early morning about getting the vast amounts of snow from my roof on short notice.  Within a couple of hours a crew was removing the snow.  The job appears to have been thorough and no apparent damage to the roof.  For the cost, the service seemed quite reasonable.

After several attempts (voice mails, emails)  to get on the list of customers to be serviced, I finally got a response that we would  be "possibly last stop today"; today being Saturday. On Saturday, the date was changed to Monday morning since they had run out of time that day.
I asked what their rate was but never received a response. On Monday morning, I sent out an email at 8 am stating that I had a quick 30 minute errand to run and that they could contact me via cell should they arrive in my absence. At 9:30, I got an email response that they would be here around noon. All of this was annoying, but, I was just happy to finally get someone to clear my roof since I had water coming into the house in two areas. I knew that I was not the only person with this problem, that the demand was high for this service.
At noon, a crew arrived and was ready to start working. I asked for some kind of cost estimate. They called Bob (business owner) and had him call me. The price would be $795 for the whole roof. I asked if I could just get problem areas done and he told me they were charging $395 per hour. After giving it some thought (10 minutes), I called him back to ask that they do the whole roof.
One and a half hours later, they were gone. The roof was not completely cleared. Ice dams remained and some parts were not even touched. I called Bob to ask if they had left for lunch! He thought they might, so he said he would check with them and get back to me. He sent me an email saying they were finished, they had worked 1.5 hours and the bill would be $600.
Also, I found pieces of my shingled roof in the snow below. I replied that I was disappointed in the way this whole process had played out and I sent him photos of the state of my roof. He replied that it was fine, that it would melt, and if they cleared more ice, I would have  MORE roof damage. What else could I say? I certainly don't want more roof damage and I know that the ice dams won't just "melt"...if they did, I wouldn't have needed them to be cleared.
Poor scheduling, poor communication and poor quality of work.

They promised a rebate. They came over and demanded some money upfront and after that he never turned back. Their advertisements about rebates are a fake. I feel they are a scam and Angie’s list members should be .aware of that.

"Talbot Roofing never went out to this home. They must be confused with another company. We do not ever ask for money up front on repairs."

got backed up.  Still, I'd give them a solid A for 2013.  We had one issue after the 2013 job with woodstove flue collars that weren't resealed after being removed and reinstalled.  I mentioned it to Rick and he had someone out the next day to correct.  Both Rick and the crew member apologized for the oversight.

Weather does play a significant role in when roofers can work, and sometimes jobs get backed up.  Be clear in what you want and when you want it, and these guys will do their best to accommodate you.  Overall, Talbot's did a good job at a good price.  I would use them again.  They stood behind their work and were right there when something had to be fixed.

The weight of the snow was causing issues with doors closing properly. Talbot returned my call immediately and performed the service the next day. I recommend his services and will definitely use again.

True to his word a crew of 3 men came and immediately set to work. I have a two story Garrison home with 2 extra rooms added on. One is on the side of the house and the other is off the back of the house. They shoveled the entire roof and cleaned up any snow that fell on the walkways and driveway. They worked quickly and efficiently and were done in an hour, with all their tools back on the truck and cleanup finished. Also the price quoted was spot on. I would highly recommend this company.  Who doesn't love a job well done? Great company, great crew!  I would definitely hire them again!

Bob was accommodating from the onset, we set an appointment that worked with my schedule and he arrived a few minutes early for our meeting. By the time I arrived Bob had already walked my roof and assessed the situation. He promptly told me that the pooling on my roof was nothing to be concerned about and even gave me advice as to how I might mitigate it cheaply. He also gave a free inspection of the entire roof and Chimney and provided additional tips for a few minor items I should fix on my own.
I also was looking for a quote to add gutters to the house. Bob asked me if I ever had water in my basement, to which I responded no, then looking at the long overhang I have he recommended not putting gutters as they often are a cause of ice build up on the roof and a pain to maintain/clean. He gave me advice as to how to use gravel and PVC to direct ground water.
Although I did not contract Bob for anything, it is really refreshing when you find a contractor who is honest and glad to take the time to give the right advice without expecting anything in return. All that with absolutely no sign of frustration that he made the trip out at his expense and it did not result in a job.
The next time I need roofing work done, I know who I'm calling.
Thanks Bob

From the very start of the project they arrived when promised.  The estimate was clearly explained and all options were discussed.  When it came time to performing the work they were on time and very neat.  All of the mess was cleaned up as soon as the project was finished and the dumpster was promptly taken away. I would highly recommend Talbot to friends and family!

Bob was very responsive -- came down to check out the job within a few
days of my calling him.  Got me an estimate quickly. He was  also very
flexible when I had to change dates a couple of times and change the
scope of work. He is willing to negotiate as well.
When The crew discovered a lot of rotted wood under 3
layers of shingles he was able to get the necessaty plywood there
ASAP to keep the job going.
The only issue I had was that they left a bit of a mess with the fallen shingles. I would recommend them based on the quality of the work and the responsiveness--the key things! But make sure they cover ALL the areas with a drop cloth and clean up totally so you are not left with debris, and make sure they use their own equipment, like rakes and brooms, not yours, as they are likely to break.
