The young gentlemen who applied the sealer sprayed one of my white garage doors and I have not been able to get it off. Also, they sprayed the sealer in several spots on my nice front lawn. Also the driveway has several cracks throughout.  This maybe indicative of a 'watered down" version of sealer applied.

I just noticed the cracks and spots on the door so I plan to contact them and request assistance.

I was hesitant to have anyone seal my driveway after the experience I had last time I had it seal coated (in general, the same experience I had this time).  I was planning on doing it my self to make sure it was done right but I thought with the good reviews on Angies List, I would give Northeast Sealcoating a try.  I spoke with Bill Davis at length as to what I wanted done. l told him my driveway was in good shape but and that I had previously had a 'professional' sealcoat it 3 years ago.  I told him that I was unhappy with the coating they had applied and the fact that they had oversprayed the driveway onto the grass badly.  I explained that I was looking for someone to apply the thicker, slurry type coating.  He explained that his coating was the best in the industry and that it had 4lbs of sand per gallon and that they would prepared the surface (clean, powerwash, dry, etc.) and that they never overspray.  I was quoted the price of $300 and told that they would contact me the evening before they were going to come out, hopefully within the next 10 days.  14 days later they called and I was looking forward to coming home to a sealed driveway.  I came home and found the driveway badly oversprayed.  Unsprayed areas of the driveway clearly showed it had not been powerwashed or cleaned.  I also tested the coating in several places and found no sand at all: it was exactly the same light oil based spray on coating the last contractor used.  My driveway is not sealed, it is sprayed black.  If they had actually used paint it would have been sealed better than what they used.  I called to express my complaint to Bill and he assured my first that the overspray would not harm the grass (I do not believe this at all and know by personal experience exactly what happens to grass the is sprayed with driveway sealant).  I reminded him of the discussion we about the coating.  I had used the physical test as the question:  if I put the coating on my fingers and rub them together would it feel gritty or smooth.  He had assured me it would be gritty with 4lb of sand per gallon.  This time he hemmed and hawed and settled on the statement that the coating was "made by the manufacturer".    I would strongly recommend to anyone against using Northeast Sealcoating because of a complete lack of knowledge of their own product and extremely poor workmanship.

Update:  3 days after the installation,  we had rain which completely washed off about half of the applied 'sealcoating'.  I wish I could attach photos.  I am not talking about a change in color.  I am talking about large patches of the driveway where the 'sealcoating' is completely gone.  There are parts of the driveway that did not wash off and you can see  clearly the transition between the areas.  There is obviously a massive problem with quality either in the application or  the product.  Either way it is a complete failure.

"Sorry [Member name removed] to here you are unhappy,I also think you are als confused ,I dont remember any mention of a thick slurry type sealer,I dont even know what a thick slurry type sealer is but im shore it cant be good for your driveway.to prevent cracking sealer is applyed in thin coats..In 20 years I have never ever told anyone that we would power wash and dry a driveway because we dont do that,we clean it with brooms and blowers. We do try and come out within 10 days weather permiting apparently we had some rainy days that set us back a few days.also if asked I always tell the customer there may be some overspray on the grass edge to get to the driveway edge.If there were some areas 'unsprayed' It may have rained on it before it dryed that would leave it looking like it was not cleaned you would see the sealer washed away and a white sand would be left behind aka 4 lbs of sand per gal. also I dont recall any conversation about you puting your hand in the sealer and rub would it feal gritty haha.I never talked to you about that and I sertinly never told you it would feal gritty. Its a fine sand that is added by the manufacturer. you know the white stuff left behind after rain washes the sealer away. I recomand sealing your driveway in the summer not the fall do to the amount of sun on your driveway. so robert I hope you are felling les unhappy thease days, and get well soon.... PS I offered to fix the driveway and Rob declined the offer."

"Sorry about the overspray, You should have called the office we could have taken care of that. As for the ruts and divits thats normal its still suppose to look like asphalt . If it was A flat and a smooth surfice that would be to much sealer, and the sealer would start to crack. Thank You for your Business and hope you call again."

We had used Northeast a few years ago when a delivery truck dropped lots of oil on the driveway. This time a dump truck's power steering hose broke and made a mess. The team at Northeast were very responsive and promptly scheduled the job. Two people arrived within a couple of days of the initial inquiry and did a very professional and neat job. They filled a large crack at the street end of the driveway and sealcoated everything so it looks great.

"Hi [Members Name] The many hairline cracks that you have are from putting to much sealer on the driveway. all asphalt needs is a thin coat of sealer. If we had put a heavy coat of sealer to fill them small cracks thay would just get bigger and bigger over time so let go for a few years till the sealer is gone. then give us a call. Thanks Again."

Called and he said he'd leave an estimate within a few days. He did and when I called to okay the job, he gave me a date. He called back and said he could to it sooner, which was great!

The told me what they price was, they came when I wasn't home, they left me a price on the driveway in filling cracks, called me back the next day and let me know that they'd be out within the week to do it. They did the work and it was beautifully done. They seem to be very competitive.

We called on a Sunday and they returned our call same day and, since they had done our driveway in the past, they quoted us over the phone. Said they'd be around in the next couple weeks and would call a day ahead. They called ahead as promised and we left payment out on the door for them. We came home from work and it was done! Looked great...easy to do business with them.

I found Northeast seal coat very easy to do business with.

I called the company asking for estimate to have my driveway seal coated. I received a reply the same day saying that they would be down within a couple of days to give an estimate. The next day an estimate was left at my front door along with a brochure of what products they were going to use to do the work.

I found their price was comparable with what other vendors had given me.

When I called to accept their offer, they gave me a date range of when the work would be done - which due to New England weather and the fact that you want the seal coat to have two days to dry was expected.

I received a phone call the evening before the day they came down to do the seal coating. As I explained that I would be away the entire week the work was being done (which turned our to be a benefit for both parties), we discussed how they would be paid.

My neighbors called me after Northeast had finished the work, to tell me how professional they felt the crew had bee

When I returned home, the driveway looked perfect. We've had a couple of rain storms since they did the seal coating and so far the driveway is holding up well.

I received a bid within 24 hours and a follow-up phone call. My driveway was completed within one week. They were punctual and the owner's daughter thoroughly explained the process and was very courteous. They only schedule a couple of days out so flexibility is key if you need to be home.
