+ -1 moreI called Tombs on the advice of a friend who had previously used their services. I called Tombs and they said they might not be able to come out for a couple of days but the called back later and came later that afternoon. The technician replaced the cables and made some other adjustments. The door seemed to be working properly when he left. I raised the door to leave the next day but It got stuck again going down. I called Tombs again and they came out within an hour. They adjusted the tension on the spring and a few other things and it has been working properly since. I was not charged for the second visit. All their people were polite and professional and explained what they were doing. I would hire them again and I am PICKY !
Description of Work: My garage door was stuck open . It had not been running smoothly for some time. One of the cables had come loose. The door is 13 years old and had had little maintainence.

+ -1 moreThey were on time and explained what needed to be done. Fixed the problem by replacing the cable and realigned the door. I had them replace some rusty rails which they had to have someone from the shop run the parts out to my house. Professional and they got the job done in under 2 hours. I would definitely call them again.
Description of Work: One of my garage doors would not open or close properly because of a cable that came of the drum.

Description of Work: Vehicle damaged my insulated garage door that R.G. Tombs Door Co installed 5-6 years ago. The residential repairman came within twenty minutes of my call for service and repaired door temporarily so I could use it. Installed final parts 9/21/11. Adjusted door to make sure all panels operated correctly and replaced damaged weather stripping. He called to keep me informed of parts status and to schedule final visit. Excellent service. P.S. The door they steered me to 5-6 years ago to replace my eighteen year old wooden door is top notch. Couldn't be happier!
