They showed up on time and did great work. I felt like they had a reasonable hourly charge and they ended up only charging me for one hour. The gentleman brought an apprentice with him and asked beforehand if he could bring him in and show him what he was doing and that was handled very well.

I noticed wetness on my basement floor near the hot water heater and saw that Hart's name was on the tank so I gave them a call. A very pleasant lady picked up the phone and we decided that since the situation didn't seem urgent to me, we would schedule an appointment after the weekend. The plumber and assistant were a little late. I expected them to come in the morning, but I did get a call from the company to let me know they would be late and they showed up about half an hour into the afternoon.
They checked out the situation and explained that the problem was with the hot water heater expansion tank. They had one in the truck and it was installed and everything was done in less than an hour. I asked about a bill at the end of their visit and they told me the office takes care of that. The company billed me by mail later that week. I got a hand signed note from the owner thanking me for my business after I sent in payment. That was a nice gesture. Seems like a nice, family-run local business.

Very well. Unitel agreed to install a gas line in early august but was slow in actually completing the installation. As the heating season approached, Bob Hart helped expedite the gas line installation.
Once the gas line was installed, the job was completed in less than three days. We had one unusual request: the older boiler (which was less than 10 years old) was to be salvaged. The crew loaded the boiler onto my pickup and we subsequently used it to upgrade a 60+ years old boiler in another family home. The new boiler was hung on a wall in a convenient location in the basement and vented through the sill using PVC pipe. This allowed the original location to be freed up for a wood stove connected to the chimney flue used by the oil fired boiler. I gave them a slight ding (should have been A-) on quality because some of the copper runs were a little awkward (a cosmetic issue, not functional). At my request, they reworked one of the runs without a problem. The new gas boiler (US made Lochinvar Knight) has run flawlessly since its installation.

Doing the dishes at night, a pool of water collected under my kitchen sink. I called Hart Plumbing the next morning and left a message. They called back a couple hours later and said they could have someone by in an hour. I popped home from work to let them in, and they fixed the leak in 30-45 minutes. I have a badly set up faucet and sink, but I can limp along for a bit in order to replace the set-up in one fell swoop. I know what to keep an eye out for to prevent leaks until I get that new sink and faucet.

I had them over this past winter for a water heater problem (Vaughn water heater) that turned out to be a corroded heat exchanger. They provided me a quote at that time for a new water heater but I opted to change the faulty part instead. I was very surprised at how high the quote was. When I researched indirect water heaters later I found that they are more expensive than conventional gas or electric fired units. Well, this summer the water heater started leaking and I could see the manifold was rusted and water was seeping through. I called around for quotes (5 different places) but everyone was higher than the quote I received over the winter. I called Hart Plumbing to see if they would still honor that quote from the past winter and they said yes. They had a couple weeks backlog but I explained that the water heater was leaking so they said they would try to come earlier. So they showed up unannounced about a week later but I was out of town on business. We agreed they would return the following Monday and they did, right on time. I would not have believed that the price I paid was a good value if I had not called around. The next cheapest quote I received was $2200 but without a lifetime warranty. One of the quotes I received was for the same model and lifetime warranty as the one that Hart installed but $800 higher.
