BEFORE: We wanted to sell but couldn't in old condition. This small ranch-style property was in dire need of upgrades. Suspended ceilings were drooping, and had water damage. Unfinished walls on 2nd floor; some walls covered with ugly dark wood paneling. Dangerous wiring throughout. Leaks in 2nd floor bathroom. Roof leaks into 1st and 2nd bedrooms. Kitchen cabinets in poor condition. Broken glass in some windows. AFTER the renovation, we increased the asking price by approximately $80,000, and quickly received an offer to purchase! A very well-worth undertaking and we have David Perham of Best Home Improvements to thank. David Perham was recommended to us by another (too busy) contractor. He met with us promptly, we did a walk through of the property, he gave us some ideas, and we agreed to an initial contract for the siding and exterior painting only - replacing old wood with vinyl and restoring window and door frames. The result was beautiful, and the work was done efficiently and quickly without inconveniencing our tenants, who were in the process of moving out. We next agreed to a contract for David to renovate the first floor. Ceiling and walls were stripped, and new sheetrock installed, cabinets refinished and rehung, electrical circuits upgraded, and new lighting installed. The wood flooring was refinished. After consultation we agreed to convert the 2nd bedroom into a dining area, removing the wall separating it from the kitchen. The result was spectacular. Once the first floor was complete, we contracted for David to renovate the 2nd floor. David advised us to demolish some temporary walls, so we could have a better idea of the space we were dealing with. He then came up with a very neat plan to convert a large storage room into a bedroom complete with large walk-in closet. Other usable space under the sloping roof was also converted into closets, with space-saving bi-fold doors. The entire bedroom, closets and hallway was sheet-rocked, (walls and ceilings) and new electrical wiring run to new lights, the old unsafe wiring having been removed. The second floor bathroom was renovated, replacing the vanity and toilet, upgrading the shower, lighting and flooring. A new, wider, door to the bathroom was also installed. Overall, this remodel was a huge success. David was honest, hardworking, and his assistants were delightful, all meeting his high standards of careful efficiency. We would absolutely recommend David for your renovation projects, and will certainly use him ourselves again in the future.
