Brenda arrived on time for the 8/6/14 date and together we worked for 4 hours. Accomplished everything I wanted to do, in getting rid of, and organizing the storage areas in my mudroom. Brenda came up with good ideas and labeled everything which made it very easy to identify in its proper place. And I insist it stay that way to all concerned in the house.
I then had her return for the garage on 8/26/14. She brought a male helper for that job and they worked from 11 a.m. to around 6 pm that night and still had not completely finished but she returned the next morning at 8 a.m. to finish. She and her helper worked nonstop and really did a great job. The only surprise I had was being told when payment came that to do a garage the hourly rate was 45 instead of 35 which I was not aware of.
I plan on using her again as it is an ongoing process in my house to get everything organized and rid of non-essentials. I also liked that what I did not want Brenda would take in her car and discard which was helpful as I did not feel like going to the dump.

Brenda was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. The price is a B because she charged me extra for traveling to Boston but didn't tell me until the job was done.

Brenda did a great job, especially as we had a few schedule changes on my part. She was also very flexible, and worked with me in breaking down the project into 2 dates. Brenda was "hands on," asked questions and seemed very interested in not just creating a one-time solution, but a long term one. Rich went through the carriage shed with her to get ideas for turning it into his workshop. They carefully looked around and she gave him instructions on what to purchase and how to store some of the things there. Then they went to the basement where the tools are currently stored and they did the same thing. We have to do some clearing out of what can be donated or taken to the dump. We have been looking for shelving to store some of the items and will call her when we purchase it.

Brenda was awesome! The first step involved removing everything from the garage, putting it in piles according to function. Then she visualized areas for each group (gardening tools, household tools, snow removal, sporting goods, etc) suggested shelving, bins, hooks, etc and while I went to purchase supplies she went to work putting everything back. She worked tirelessly for 6 hours one day, 3 the next and in the end there was a place for everything, with everything in its place. The organization is logical and ergonomic, and there's so much more space! I can't tell you how good it feels to have a clean and organized garage -- I wish I had done thisyears ago!

I could not have been more pleased with the time Brenda and I spent together. It was seriously productive and I found myself having fun! Brenda is a wonderful person and I enjoyed my time with her on a personal and professional level. She validated my frustrations, helped me be more kind to myself with my organizational challenges, but also encouraged me to make some straightforward, manageable, easily-applied ideas that I have adapted to in a matter of days. The changes she helped me make, while critical changes for me, still fully respected and worked within the tone/style of our home and family. The true sign of success is that my kitchen counters remain clear of all paper and junk, my paperwork has never been so completely filed, thinned out, AND my husband and I are both invested in this change and abiding by the new strategies. He agrees that it was a great decision to hire Brenda. Dare I say my husband and I like each other more...she seems to have helped us relieve some stress resulting from the disorder in our home. I look forward to taking on our next big project so we can have Brenda come back and reign in another disaster zone.

We scheduled an appointment and Brenda asked what the nature of the job would be, allowing her to bring the right supplies and a handout with suggested workflow for dealing with papers. She arrived promptly and we got to work. I'd been thinking about clearing off the desk first so that I'd have a place to work, but she has a system which involves starting and the door and working in. So first we did the floor. I cleared off a stool to pile my papers on while I sorted and mostly she brought me things and set up file folders for them when I had items to file. She also wiped down and swept surfaces when we uncovered them. We worked for three hours with only a short break after two hours to stretch our legs. At the end I had a clean desk, clean floor under and around the desk, in-boxes set up for action items, items to refer to other people, and recycling. She also spotted a missing piece in one of my file cabinet drawers and told me I could buy a replacement at Staples, which was good to know, as I had only pictured buying entire file cabinets there.
Brenda worked with me to determine what filing system and method of dealing with mail would flow naturally with my personality. Yesterday I actually promptly dealt with my mail according to the system we established.
If I do not use her again, it would only be because she lives an hour away from me, and according to her policy, she charges for the length of the trip one way. So the four hours I purchased was three hours of driving and one of work, which may indicate finding someone closer.

I had sent a detailed email describing what I needed to accomplish within a very short time frame to several professional organizers.Some did not reply. Others wanted to set up a meeting to discuss my needs. Brenda was the only organizer who replied simply, "I can do that". We set up an appointment to begin work.
Brenda is flexible about setting up a schedule to accommodate my work schedule; she works along side me (not just offering advice). My project would run over a period of time since I had a lot to accomplish and I work full time. We were able to accomplish what we needed to do within the initial compressed time frame.
Brenda is proactive and just pitches in and helps me get it done, particularly things that might seem daunting to me (e.g.,moving heavy furniture; assembling things; hauling stuff away, etc)
She tries to understand how her clients think and organize and modify the system so that it will work out for them in the long run. She helps clients to use what they already have on hand. She is very price conscious. If I need something, Brenda will always come up with a practical and less expensive solution - often having those items already available in her supplies.
She is always punctual, professional and energetic. She provides discounts for large projects. Brenda takes a lot of pride in her work. She has really helped me to accomplish what was, for me, a daunting task. I work full time, long hours and had over 30 years of clutter to sort out. I am SO GLAD that I have hired B. Lee Services. In December 2011, I lost both my Dad (expected; he was 91 and had pancreatic cancer) and my husband (completely unexpected; he was 53 and had a heart attack). As a result of the losses and things being moved into my house from my parents' apartment, I was completely overwhelmed by STUFF and so traumatized by my losses that I couldn't deal with it. I made paths to get through the house and seriously considered contacting the folks who do the Hoarders show just to get everything cleaned out. Instead, I looked on-line for an organizer (pre-Angie's list membership) and was lucky enough to find B. Lee Services. I contacted her (Brenda) and was comfortable with what I heard so I arranged for her to come to my home. I was expecting her to do an assessment and develop a plan, and I wasn't sure what to expect after that. Brenda was very punctual and professional and then, before she did anything else, she listened to me explain how I had gotten to where I was. We then did a walk-through of the house so she could get a sense of the totality of the situation. She did present a plan, which was very straight-forward, but then she rolled up her sleeves (figuratively; her first visit was in February and I keep my house pretty cool in the winter) and we dug into the disorder, starting in the kitchen. A few hours later we had made a visible dent, and I arranged for her to come back the next week. In the meantime, I was able to get more of the kitchen done based on her plan. The next week we started on the living room, which ended up taking two visits; we then did the hall landings at the top of the cellar stairs and on the second floor (one visit) and the front porch (separate visit). Each time she came, she was punctual, professional, empathetic, and VERY energetic, and each time she left the house looked light-years better than before she arrived. I have some more areas to tackle, but they were my husband's spaces (his work room and our shed) and I'm not ready yet. Brenda has been very understanding of my need for more time. I plan to call her again when I can deal with them.
