"In May of 2020 this company installed a pool deck with stairs that attach to our home. The cost of the deck was an out $15,000. I have invoices to support the amount. After completion of the deck, there was an overflow cap that was partially installed, they were supposed to come finish it after the summer season. That never happened. The following March, 2021, I reached out to the company because I noticed flaking, spalling and ask about the cover. I was told that there was an issue with the sealant used, happened to other clients, needed to find out how to remedy. After asking about the fix throughout that summer, it now became a story that he noticed the concrete flashing as it was being poured. He stated that he contacted ******************************* and they said it should be fine no real issues. I reached out again in October 2021 and he now said that he would have to rip out the whole thing the following spring. And that ****************************** was going to cover the cost of the concrete. Spring of 2022, I was horrified to see the flaking, s falling, substantially worse and Cracks throughout the deck. Was put off again, needed to talk to concrete company. I subsequently reached out to that concrete company to confirm that they were on board, and I got a very angry message that I messed everything up and they would have to work hard to mend that relationship. To this day nothing has been fixed. It has been an emotionally and mentally exhausting situation. Do not use this company!"

26 years of experience

I am a self employed General Contractor with subs who work under me, but also with me. I work on every job and I handle all my affairs. I always work under contract and with estimates. By the hour is exactly that, by the hour! I specialize in all phases of construction. I have been in construction for over 30 years and I am fully insured and registered with the State of NH. I am lead certified and I have a mold remediation company that does all my mold work. I do not charge for travel, as that is something you have to do to get to work. I work every job differently on the billing procedures, as not every job is the same. I work with customers on all phases such as design, paint schemes, window layout, lighting, doors, and general footprints for small additions and garages. I do all my own dirt work straight through to the finish work. And most importantly, when you call my phone, I answer it, day or night!

"Richard and his team did an amazing job. I heard about them via referral and Richard called me back the same day I called them to inquire about getting my driveway done. He came out to the location the same day, and I got a quote right away. Him and his team was timely, and took great care in ensuring they have clean lines, proper grading etc. they will be coming back to seal cost once my driveway is cured. Very happy overall and would recommend them to anyone!"

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Concrete stain is usually better than dye for longevity because it is more durable and shows less wear and tear. While stain is not as saturated as dye, it gives you more control over the final look of the concrete countertops.

Yes, you can pour new concrete over old concrete, but you need to apply a concrete bonding agent to the existing concrete to ensure the new concrete sticks. Keep in mind that even with a bonding agent, large cracks and other flaws will still come through. If the concrete has heaved, settled, or cracked, pouring new concrete on top won’t address any root structural problems. Removing the existing concrete and rebuilding will be your best solution in that case.

A properly installed 6-inch concrete slab, mixed and cured under the right conditions, can support about 3,000 pounds concentrated over a single square foot without buckling. Conversely, concrete pavers can handle around 8,000 pounds per square inch when laid over a solid, well-compacted base.

A 4-inch-thick concrete slab can support around 4,000 pounds per square foot if a contractor reinforces the slab with rebar, while that same slab without reinforcements will support closer to 1,000 pounds. For the purposes of a patio, 4 inches in thickness without reinforcement should suffice unless you’re installing heavy kitchen equipment or a hot tub on it. In those cases, reinforcing your slab and sticking with 4 inches of thickness should provide plenty of strength.

Spraying water on concrete will slow down the curing process and can help create a stronger slab. Spraying your concrete may be necessary if you’re pouring in hotter temperatures above 60 degrees Fahrenheit, if it’s particularly windy, or if your new concrete is exposed to intense sunlight. Avoid spraying for the first four hours, and then spray five to 10 times a day for the following week.
