+ -1 moreWe were able to take the bicycles we were interested in outside to ride and he watched how we rode to ensure they were the best bikes for us, making suggestions on height of seat and making sure that when we walked out the door we knew how to take off the front tire and replace it again and how to use the new-to-us speed controls.
Description of Work: Closest to my house bicycle shop. Did a lot of preliminary Internet "shopping" for local bicycle shops. Stopped by Exeter Cycles and the staff, who doesn't work on commission, explained the different types and pricing. We had been avid skinny tire cyclists in the '80s, riding in Vermont and in Europe, but the industry has sure changed -- and so have we. The owner took his time, staying after closing hours, to recommend what would work best for our current physiques now, asking questions about what we were looking to do with the bikes, etc. Not pushy! We ended up only with wonderful bicycles and helmets - none of the other extras that someone else might try to sell (got our car bike rack from Walmart). Very pleased with his knowledge and interaction.
