RED CARPET FLOWER & GIFT SHOP

Son in Chicago called this shop directly, ordered bouquet for Mother's Day, spelled the names to go on the card. He called on the holiday and asked how Momma liked her flowers. "What flowers?" We'd not even received a call asking for directions. He asked me to call the shop to learn the situation. I asked for the owner; she was on vacation. The employee who answered the phone told me the manager would be in soon & she would give this person my msg (while civil, I made it clear I was furious). Several hours went by and at dusk, there was a timid knock on the door from the delivery person. I suspect she had taken my call or been terrified by a recounting of it. Flowers were nice, nothing remarkable ... and crowned by a computer print-out card. For Mother's Day? How warm and personal ... makes the pulse race, doesn't it? It was especially touching to see the mis-spelling of my daughter-in-law's name: "Dina" rather than "Gina." Again, my son called them directly and spelled the names for them. Other than the late delivery, we never heard anything from them before or after. Two weeks after this, neither household has received even an apology for this lackadaisical service. Oh, and the flowers lasted half as long as they do when supplied by my preferred florists. I suspect this is probably atypical, else certainly they would not still be in business, but we definitely will not patronize them and I would advise others looking for a florist in this area to avoid them, as well.
