Harold quoted me $2,800 to remove my inoperable wood insert, and to tile the interior of the existing chimney to be an open wood-burning fireplace. After removing the insert, we discovered that the chimney was already tiled by the previous homeowner and was already suitable to have fires. He installed a chimney top damper and then asked me for $2,800. I said **Well, you performed half the work that you quoted. The chimney did not need to be tiled** He replied with **Well, $2,800 would be nice** I said, **Yeah, it would be nice, but you quoted me $2,800 to remove the insert and tile the chimney. You only removed the insert. You did not need to tile the chimney** He replied with **Well, $2,800 is what I quoted and that would be nice** We went in circles for about 10 minutes while he stood in my living room, I just wanted him to leave before I got too angry so I gave him a check for $2,800. To add insult to injury, the cable for the chimney top damper broke. I called him and left him a few voicemails to come out and repair it and he never called me back. I ended up repairing it myself. The guy is an absolute crook and I would never recommend him.

The work on two sets of exterior steps, converting from brick to granite, was completed on time, even with a couple of decision changes. Mr. Clark is very personable and easy to work with. The project result is beautiful and the price, including changes, was spot on. This is an easy recommendation.

Harold did a nice job repairing the corner of my block foundation. He replaced the broken and cracked blocks and re-pointed all the joints, and it only took him a couple days. Very nice.

Harold provided a very fair estimate and arrived exactly at the time scheduled to begin the project of re-tucking / re-pointing my front steps. He returned the following day to provide a protective sealer. It is wonderful to be free of the unsafe, crumbling mortar and to be able to comfortably welcome guests at my front door again. He did a beautiful job!
