Have been a customer for 7 years and called them when my furnace would not light in October. They told me I must get emergency service at a charge of several hundred dollars if I wanted it repaired same week otherwise they could send our someone to look at it and order parts the next week. I youtubed the symptoms ordered a board overnight on Amazon for $84 and has the furnace running the next day. Looking for a new fuel provider and service company

The crew arrived when scheduled and worked quickly and did an excellent job. We had prepared the spaces so the work crews could do the work with little interuption.

The company removed the propane tank, with no warning at all, as my tenant was cooking a roast for a dinner party. The tenant did not owe anything. I, as the owner, did not owe anything. Checking the propane account online shows that the account is up to date, with zero balance owed, and has been so for at least a year. They removed the tank because a different tenant, in the other unit, owed a balance, but they had never made any attempt to notify me as the owner (they have my address, but instead just left notices on the door, which the tenant removed without telling me. As a result of their reckless, unwarranted and inexcusable actions, I may lose a good long-term tenant and thousands of dollars of income. And instead of apologizing, their agent was rude and nasty. Would never do business with them again.

This company is either incompetent or dishonest, they charged me to do the same repair twice in a six month span, on a 12 year old gas boiler. Plenty of alternatives to DF Richard. I won't be fooled a third time.

Great! The owner, DF Richard, came out personally before our first filling to introduce himself and explain everything. Shortly afterwards, we had a wicked bad storm and lost power for 2 days, so we really needed the propane. They even topped off my tanks during the power outage, not because I called, but because the driver was in our area and wanted to be sure that we had enough fuel to keep our generator running until power was restored. Awesome customer service!!

Our furnace broke during one very cold night during January 2014.  They tried their best to diagnose the issue over the phone, but came to look once it was clear that it was not a small issue.  They diagnosed the problem quickly, but we had to wait about four days while a part arrived.  They kept us informed, and also kept us warm with space heaters (that worked surprisingly well).
When the water overflow tank was daignosed as broken, again they were very responsive and good about keeping us informed about when they could fix it.
I don't really know if the price they charged was good or not - we really did not take the time to shop around.

The gentlemen who sell the product were excellent.  Punctual and answered our numerous questions.  The installation was timely and the laborers were great.  That's where the good stuff stopped.  First of all, there were scuffs all over the ceilings and a hole in the sheetrock where they had dropped a tool in the attic.  Secondly, the installation of the ac grates was shotty at best.  We had to take one down and realized they were only screwed into the sheetrock no strapping or molly bolts.  The biggest issue however, is that we have been without heat on three occassions, had zones running continuously, and had no less than five service calls to them.  We are beyond frustrated after spending so much and are still working to rectify the issue

I have updated our review.  After the last service call, the problems with the furnace have been fixed.  I believe they are now working with a different installation company which should match with their customer service end of things (which as i said was always excellent) we are still waiting for them to come back this summer to complete a few odds and ends and as soon as that work is completed i will give a final review

I hired DF Richard to install a water heater about 6 months ago. Come to find out, months later when I had a different company come in to do some plumbing,(DF Richard’s customer service was terrible and not returning calls) that the job was not done to code, not even close. The inspector had a laundry list of violations and SAFETY issues! The final straw was finding out they did not even pull a permit for the job! I was disgusted that I hired a so called professional company to do a job right and they cut corners that put me and my family at risk. They claimed that they would “make it right”. By that they sent a check for $150, and a meek apology hoping I would just go away. A technician did come back to fix the violations that were not already rectified by the previous plumber, but I have still not heard back about a final inspection and doubt I will. It’s not worth fighting with them in court, although I’d like to for putting my family in danger with shoddy work. Please beware of this company before you deal with them, and if you have in the past, I urge you to call the state inspector to verify they had the appropriate permits and inspections. My only consolation is that the inspector assured me that they would be fined and reprimanded for their work.
Response from DF Richard Energy
"This is not the way D.F. Richard Energy does business and we are the most honest/fair company around. This natural gas customer had called us to install an on demand water heater 6 months ago. We completed a walk through and installed the water heater for him. The water heater was installed to manufacturers instructions and there were no safety issues. Another contractor came to the job to connect a new natural gas range that the customer had bought and needed to install the gas piping for this appliance. In order to install the piping to the range, the existing piping had to be reworked to accommodate the extra line. At this point the contractor decided that he would talk negatively about our work. The city inspector also came to the job to inspect the new lines to the gas range once this contractor was finished with his work. He didn't see the existing piping before this contractor had removed all of it to rework the piping to accommodate his new gas range. He then started to scare the customer with false comments. This is when we got the phone call from the customer. As soon as we received the phone call, the service manager and I responded to the home to find out exactly what was wrong so that we could make sure it was taken care of. We met with the range installer and the homeowner. We had used a small piece of Counterstrike Tracpipe to go from the existing black iron to the new water heater. Omegaflex, the manufacturer of this Counterstrike indicates in their instruction manual that this pipe does not need additional bonding if it connected to a bonded appliance, which it was. There is no safety issue here. The only other thing the inspector had a problem with was a relief valve from the water heater needed to be piped to within 6" of the floor. Again, not a safety issue, but more a cosmetic item. He never had anything to say about the one on the boiler right beside the water heater that was not piped to within 6" of the floor. Once I arrived back at the office I called the homeowner and scheduled a time for a technician to come back over and extend the relief valve to within 6" of the floor. I also had the technician do the one on the boiler while he was there, at no charge. I then called the contractor that installed the range and asked him how much he thought it cost him to rework the gas piping to accommodate his new piping. He told me $150 would more than cover the cost associated with this. I called the customer and explained this to him. We did not pull a permit when the water heater was installed because there was all ready a water heater there and we were just replacing it. We have since pulled a permit and will be meeting the inspector for inspection of the system in the short future. As I said in the beginning of this narrative, D.F. Richard Energy will ONLY provide top quality service and installation. If there is ever an issue we will be the first to act on it. We will ALWAYS back up all our work we complete, and try to make sure every customer is satisfied. If there are ever any questions or concerns, please make sure you contact our office so we can rectify the situation as soon as possible. They could not have been more on top of it; they were awesome. Even though I had a problem they were right there so there are no complaints on my part. The manager of the company came to check after the service man was here and I will use them again in the future.

They are my oil suppliers and do servicing on my heater me as well.  I have a service contract of $250 and have been using them for 6 years.  They are little higher in terms of oil supply.  I will use them again in the future.
