Very quickly arrive but what they charge is insane, not even in the same orbit as other plumbers.

Buyer beware! So, I recently had a problem with a dishwasher. I wasn’t sure if it was the dishwasher or the water intake line in the cellar as there was dripping coming from it Having a good experience with Paul the Plumber in the past and still seeing positive reviews I decided to use them again. Two nice gentlemen came out, Ryan and his apprentice Seth Am I sorry for this decision So, first of all there is a $99 fee to have them come out And then while here, they present you with an estimate of $452 to diagnose the problem Figuring what choice did I have I signed the agreement to go ahead I showed them where the leak was, and then they asked to see the circuit breaker. They watched as I flicked all of the breakers on and off They then went upstairs to look at the dishwasher They removed the front panel and the saw there was a bad seal I was then told it would be $518 to replace the water line At this point I said thank you and ad them leave They were here less than an hour of which may at best, a half hour was spent trying to diagnose the problem I contacted and requested an itemized bill which they said they do not do. They have set prices by jobs! In any cases $452 seems to be an excessive rate for what they did to diagnose the problem, and I still don’t know if the valve needs to be replaced or not! They did say if I wanted to go ahead and replace the line it would only be an additional $66. Still , $518 to relace a line also seems excessive So a word to wise, make sure you ask specific questions regarding theirs costs before you have them come out A disappointed customer!

Beware of vast overcharges for service. While at my house fixing a shut off valve the repair person noticed a small leak in my expansion tank of my furnace. He told me that this was a very large repair requiring a "a lot of time to correct" and would require him to take apart the entire furnace. The cost was $2,900. Having had positive experience before with Paul the Plumber we agreed to the repair. While a "lot of time" took 1.5 hours and required about $300 in parts, he did not take apart the furnace - just shut off the water and put on the parts outside the furnace. That comes to $1700 per hour !!! Total dishonest portrayal of the scope of the project. Do not trust this company. Get a second opinion. They are dishonest.

The work is quality, no doubt about it. The problem is that their labor costs are upwards of $700-$800 an hour. I didn't know how long the work would take when I signed the agreement, prior to work beginning. When the plumber was done maybe an hour and a half later, I knew I'd significantly overpaid for the job.

All the staff were terrific and jobs done well. We were even members for services. Unfortunately, they took advantage of us 80 yr Olds. Charged us 551.00 for 18oz of refrigerant which costs about 45.00. That's an 1150 % markup. The visit was free as part of our membership. 6 phone calls got us a 70.00 refund. We are no longer using Paul Bears plumbing services.

Work completed and availability of the plumber was acceptable, but I got absolutely fleeced in regards to price! The work needed to get done now and everyone else was booked through next month. I paid nearly $1200 dollars for a toilet install and p-trap installation. Everything was right there and just needed water tight connections. Didn’t trust myself to do the job because I didn’t want to flood the house with a leaking pipe or violate code with my amateur DIY installation. Will stick with Martel for other plumbing projects in the future. Lesson learned the hard way from my end.

Called to get quote for installation of new washer and gas dryer. They said they couldn't give quotes, estimates, or even a ballpark figure over the phone, that a plumber would give me an estimate onsite. I had called about 6 other places that had no problems giving me a quote on the phone. I had PTP come out anyway. Two guys showed up and spent about 5-10 minutes in laundry room. They proceeded to give me an estimate - $1300! All the hookups are already there, just needed a propane conversion for the dryer. Every other plumbing company had quoted $200-$350. I thought the PTP guys had to be joking, but apparently they were serious and even emailed me the quote after I laughed them out the door. Got another plumbing company and took them 30 minutes from start to finish, including unpacking the machines! Cost was $250. Hard to imagine how this company gets such high reviews after I've personally experienced what I can only call an attempted scam!

the technician explained the repair like this was rocket science to justify the $500 fee when it only took him 15 minutes to replace the Thermostat. Thermostat cost -- $10 at any hardware store. $500 for replacing a $10 component and spending less than 1/2 hour in my house --- A complete rip off.

Everything went very well, the technicians that came for each job were very professional, explained everything to me and showed me exactly what was wrong and what was needed to fix the issues. Gave me a price before beginning each service. Their pricing compared to other companies is good, they stand behind their work and comes with a warranty if anything goes wrong. Would definitely recommend them.

In the middle of our renovation it was discovered the furnace needed to be replaced and the hot water heater developed a leak. The company sent out a professional crew the same day and everything was wrapped up the next morning. Everyone was very professional and very helpful explaining options. They even fixed the humidifier that was installed incorrectly.

The new hot water heater was installed and is running but I was away and he charged my wife an insanely high amount for the work. I found a comparable water heater at Lowe's for $600 not including installation. He additionally tried to scare us into buying a whole new heating system boiler at $7,000.00  while ours is still working. I ended up getting on the phone with this guy and declining the boiler. Our propane system service guys who came out and told us that our boiler is in perfect working condition. He made all kinds of statements about operating and installation deficiencies; claimed it was at risk of exploding in effort to scare us into making the purchase. When I told him that I wanted to get a second opinion  he decided to get out of town very quickly.
Response from Paul The Plumber
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention, there are some definite training issues here, which we will address. Your statement that we charged your wife an insanely amount of money for the work also concerns us. We never want people to feel taken advantage of. So we checked with Lowe's to find out if there pricing for your particular hot water system was so much lower than ours and it turns out that they do not sell that type of hot water system. Please feel free to give our office a call if you would like to discuss this further. (603) 437-7039. Again Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention."
