MGS Construction LLC

One of our neighbors recently had their roof replaced by MGS Const., and we were very impressed with the results. Alphonse G., who handled our contract, was professional and efficient. The project was completed on time and within budget promised. A quality roof is an important investment in your home, and we're confident MGS Const. will do a great job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

I had my roof replaced by MGS Construction with a full GAF system in April 2022. I inspected the attic after they finished and noticed that they had laid underlayment and shingles over the ridge vent openings and had not cut them out before installing the ridge vents. I contacted them and first they tried to convince me that the attic would ventilate through the underlayment but after pushing they returned and tried to cut the underlayment and shingles out from inside the attic (instead of removing the ridge vents and re-installing correctly). In January 2024 I was in the attic following a rain storm and noticed water on a section of rafters along with signs of poor ventilation (the home was built in 2000 and I had never experienced any of these issues previously). I again contacted MGS and they sent a “technician” a couple of days later to inspect. He claimed there was no evidence of any leakage (even though I had pictures) and said the ventilation issues were due to improperly installed insulation (note that all rafter bays are baffled and the insulation has been in place since 2000, again with no prior ventilation issues). At this time I also filed a claim with GAF but they responded that since the roof was less than two years old it was the installer’s responsibility to resolve any issues. I tried repeatedly to contact MGS again to discuss what they could/would do to help me and stand behind their work but I’ve gotten no response. So I had three other roofing companies do inspections and they confirmed that there were no issues with the insulation install. But they all felt that the ridge vents had not been properly installed (some of the openings were still blocked by underlayment/shingles) and this was causing the ventilation issues which could have caused ice damming which could have caused the leaks I observed. Given MGS’ failure to respond, I had to have the ridge vents replaced at my own expense. Since having the ridge vents replaced, there has been a noticeable improvement in ventilation. Given my experience, I will not let MGS near my home ever again and I would strongly encourage anyone considering MGS to explore other options.

Back in the fall Al from MGS Construction LLC came to my property to give a quote to do a complete roof job, removing all the previous shingles, putting on the underlayment and then put on GAF shingles. They also did me a solid by cutting out some rotted siding and put on some weather tight material until I can get my home properly side. MGS was not the lowest price, but not the highest either and Al sold me on MGS being an Elite Master Contractor where the roof is guaranteed for 50 years, and the labor is guaranteed for 25 years. The roof looks fabulous and the cleanup was pristine. I will most likely go with MGS construction for my siding as well. Thank you Al and MGS.

MGS is by far the best & easiest larger contractor I’ve ever worked with. From the timely response for a quote to the “We’re not done until you’re happy” attitude - owner, salesman & workers make up an impressive team that tackled siding & doors on my old & crooked house.

Everything went very well. Workers arrived early and completed removal of old roof and installation of new material in one day. They picked up and removed all of the old material and debris and left everything neat and clean. Their pricing was slightly higher than other estimates however, I chose MGS for their quality workmanship and timeliness, plus the GAF product warranty.

It couldn't have gone better. It is my pleasure to write a review of this job for MGS Construction. Right from the time my husband and I sat down with Michael Manick, Director of Sales, I knew that this was the company for us. We were not strangers to roofing companies, for we had previously interviewed 3 other companies this past year. MGS's "Mission Statement" that quality is never an accident but always the result of high intentions, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution was certainly demonstrated by the excellent job that the crew did on our roof. Everything that Mike said was to be done was done to perfection. The crew of 11 men were on the job at 7 am and completed a 30 sq.ft. roof by 4 pm. I was impressed with how well mannered and polite the crew were and how hard they worked. The grounds were left in excellent condition. Excellent workmanship. Higher price than other quotes but I chose them for their reputation and quality of work. They completed the job in one day as quoted and I'm completely satisfied! They picked up everything at the end of the day and you would never know they had been there.

It went very well. I received the contract quickly and they got to work right away.  They were courteous and professional.  They did even more work than the contract stated for no additional cost. I also checked the Better Business Bureau and they have an A+ rating.

Supplies arrived the day before the job.  Dumpster was here the day of the job.  Crew showed up on time at 7AM and worked consistently and as a team through the day.  They did the whole job in one day, and this is a large home.  These guys were not messing around.  They knew what they were doing and just went right to it.  They cleaned up during and after the job, picked up stuff, blowing the driveway and walk way, going over the lawn with magnets to get the nails.  They had tarps to protect the sides of my home and windows.  The Roof Looks Great!  I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

From the quoting process through to the final cleanup after installation, MGS's performance was stellar. I had recently gotten 2 other quotes for a GAF roofing system and not only did those quoting harass me and take up several hours of my time, their quotes were also literally 2 and 3 times the cost of MGS's quote. Mike Manick showed up and had my house measured and the quote prepared before I could even meet him in my driveway. The whole quoting process took only 15 minutes and I could tell I was dealing with a great company. I made my decision to sign the contract a few days later and within a week they were getting right to work installing. My roof is very advanced with several bumpouts and dormers, yet the very friendly crew were able to complete it all in 1 day. It took 12 hours, but they worked straight through and vowed to get it all done. They left my property completely clean. At the end of it I looked for whatever other projects I could have them quote too since I'm so excited to work with them again.

It went great.  After the old siding was removed they found all the existing windows were not framed or insulated and insulated and framed all of them.  They also discovered a good amount of rot on our breezeway so they brought in a carpenter to repair that.  It is now very solid.  The siding was done in a timely manner and the whole project was done in just over a week which without the rot repair would have been even faster.  The house looks great and we couldn't be happier.

Michael's quote and follow-up was very professional.  John, the foreman, was very knowledge and focused on quality.  I would use MGS Construction again!

They were prompt. Workers were respectful of my property. Management was on site throughout the day monitoring the work . No hidden costs, There is nothing I would do differently. Contract was solid the work was completed as promised. Cost was reasonable a very different experience for me . In the past I have had other companies not show up , suddenly come up with hidden costs Not with this company. Walked through step by step I have already recommended they'd to two other friends. It went great. They were on time, efficient, courteous and even finished ahead of shedule. When they were done I looked for nails on my driveway and yard......I only found 1 and it was under a bush!  The roof looks terrific and they did work on my gutters so I don't have to clean them.

Mike ( sales Rep) was on time a courteous for the estimate. Described in great detail what would take place. Crew arrived on time was neat and professional, completed job in one day. Tim ( foreman) kept us appraised throughout.

The estimator was on time explained all to me. We decided on a price, the foreman showed up on the day of install with their crew, materials and dumpster. The entire job went as explained to me by the estimator. We received the warranty as explained and all went exactly as planned.
