Auto Service
I brought 2 tires into this garage that I already owned, and only needed the tires to be put on the vehicle. The garage said new lugs and studs were needed, and said all were broken (which was untrue - I was aware 1 stud was missing so knew that one would need replacing, not all 10). However, the garage said the "expensive" lugs and studs were not needed, so he would get the cheap ones that are $2 - $3 each and 10 total were going to be replaced, so this was fine.
I was told by the garage that the costs associated to getting the tires on the vehicle would include the price of the 10 lugs/studs ($2 - $3 each for 10) that would total $20 - $30, in addition the $40 for the tires to be mounted ($20 each) and $28 to balance the tires ($14 each). With that being said, the bill should have totaled $88 - $98. However, once the work was complete, my bill totaled $234, which would mean the garage decided to charge an extra $126 - $136 in labor and there was no mention of this at all until the job was done. While I would have understood if extra labor would have been charged, this information was not provided to me in advance. To have spent $234 to have 2 tires I already owned put on my vehicle was outrageous, and I could have gone somewhere else to buy and mount 4 NEW tires for about the same price.
In addition to the cost of this service, the owner of the garage literally screamed at his wife over the intercom 3 seperate times when I was waiting for my vehicle, swearing at her. Needless to say, it was extremely uncomfortable and after hearing all of this so I just left with the 3 year old girl I had with me.
