I found the provider on Angie's List and contacted them because they were the closest to my home. The receptionist was outstanding, she asked me to describe the current problem, took my information and put me on a brief hold. When she returned I was offered either an appointment today or tomorrow for a technician to come diagnose my freezer problem. I must add this call was placed at 3 pm but luckily they had a technician in the area. I took the today option and Keith showed up within the hour. He came in verified the details I described on the phone and went to work. He looked in the freezer then pulled it away from the wall and removed the back plate, checked the internal workings and provided my options. It is either a bad compressor or a leak in the system. I can add Freon which will eventually leak out (if its a leak) or I can replace the compressor. The additional Freon option will be about $30 and get you a couple more weeks to a month out of the unit. The compressor replacement option will be as expensive as replacing the unit all together. So unfortunately both options are terminal but Keith was up front with the details so I could make an informed decision.

It went well.

The owner and service technican Keith understood the Magic Chef refrigerator intimately and went right to the cause. He had to order the part, came back a couple days later and put it in. During the wait time he was able to keep the refrigerator limping along so I did have refrigeration during that time.

Keith is an exceptionally knowledgeable and competent repair tech and seems to know hoe to fix most everything.

Keith is just about the nicest service technician we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. In addition to being knowledgable, he is helpful in offering suggestions for self-diagnosis, without feeling the need to invoice you for every word that comes out of his mouth. We use Crown Appliance whenever the problem is greater than we are, and refer them to all our friends.

My self cleaning oven was not working. They opened the panel and saw that the computer chip was burnt out. He told me that he could not replace the computer chip because the company that makes it is no longer in business. I thought the fee was excessive because he was there for 10 minutes.
