We had requested several quotes from a few companies. He came in at $18,000.00 with him keeping the wood from the clearing of the land. The other one came in at $20,000.00 with us keeping the wood. We decided to keep price down and we did not need the wood at that point so we went with Valladares. He had come to our house with a hand written quote of $18.000.00 stating that when the septic design came in from the state he would type it up. He had allowed $6500.00 for the septic and if everything came in ok the quote was good. If the design came in with a high priced design we would have to adjust his quote. The design came in low priced and easy. He started working within a month or so from the time of the quote as waiting for the septic design from the state. We received a bill of $10,000.00 then and soon after a bill of $4496.00 total 14,496.00 and I expected one more of about $3000.00 which would be the balance of his quote but to my surprise our next bill was $15,996.00. So I called him and asked if the bills and our check had crossed. He said no. I then asked why so much when we were given from him a quote for much less. He stated that he did not know that gas was going to go up so high and he needed a few extra loads of fill then he expected. I then asked where the money for the wood was as it was not listed as a credit on any bill. He said he did not get much of anything for the wood. Wood was selling for a good price at that time we were told. After that we received another bill of $3241.00 now totaling $33,733.00. I can understand a little more then a quote but this is almost double. When you give a quote you are suppose to stand by it. Not this person. Since than I have also heard through the grapevine that he did this to a few other people.
