Downeast Plumbing Heating & Stuff

We contacted Downeast because our hot water heater was not heating consistently. Sometimes, a hot shower was fine, but other times, it would run cold after a few minutes. We left a message on their answering machine (no live person to answer phones), and it took a few days to get a return call. When he finally came, he checked it for a few minutes and said the thermostats were improperly set, causing an inversion problem. It had no effect on the problem. We called him back, again leaving a message on the answering machine. We waited several days for a response, and finally called the local Sears store. Their plumber discovered, after two visits, that the problem was a faulty switch in the top thermostat.
Eventually, Downeast returned our call, and we told him that we did not appreciate being ignored. His response was that he hadn't ignored us, but couldn't call us at the late hour he got home. There was no apology and no offer to refund our $50.
Communication with this company is virtually impossible.
