I hired Oliver as I saw a young guy building a business, and wanted to give him help as the "underdog" in the business.  He gave me prices for both the lawn and the bed mulching and cleaning.  His prices on the mulching were excellent, and his pricing on the mowing started higher than I had previously paid, but once I told him my old price (from a major in-town company) he met it.
He came and mowed... first time was just fine - but he didn't do the edging and left weeds growing around the perimeter of my lawn.  He said he'd come back and do it.  He also came and did the mulching... dumping the mulch right on top of weeds and other goodies that should have been pulled.  So, now I have beds with new mulch that are totally filled with weeds, grass, etc...  I was sure that if I just spoke to him, he'd do what was necessary to fix his work.  I even voluntarily paid him before being given a bill as I wanted to help him.  Trying to do a good deed.
He came one more week and mowed, but still hadn't started quite a few things he was asked to do.  In the middle of the mowing, he stopped and told my wife that he had to go to another job.  She was upset and asked how he could leave in the middle of the job with only half of the grass mowed, no edge trimming, no perimeter trimming, etc... in a mess.
He called me the next day and said he got a scholarship and was going to school.  I told him this was great and that I was happy for him.  I asked him when he was going, and he said in 3 weeks.  He told me he'd be the next day to finish up.  He didn't show up.  Another day went by... nobody showed up.  Finally I called him an left a message that I needed to know if he was coming or not... he never called back.  He left half of the grass mowed, abandoning me in the middle of the job.  
A very bad experience.  Now I have to pay another company to do the work that he let go --- as now the job to clean up is bigger.
