This is the second home that Stephen has done for me, and he is GREAT! When the plumber didn't show up, Stephen was able to work around it and do as much as possible in order to minimize down time. He and his crew are very flexible and capable of dealing with all kinds of unforeseen issues when they arise, as they always do.

Stephen did a fantastic job installing wainscoting in our downstairs and upstairs hallways. Besides the fantastic quality of work, he was clean and neat and left the space just as it had been before the work. Highly recommend his work!

Not well-- Mr. Rothwell spent the entire time- 2 hours- installing the overhead pendant. He mentioned coming back to do the other jobs but I decided against it-- as I would have to pay additional money for his services. Perhaps his description should NOT include electrical as it clearly did not seem to be in his wheelhouse.

"After arriving from my previous 8 hr. day.the customer showed me what she needed done.She wanted the two lights , pendant fixture and shower rod , installed.I told her I would like to install the easiest items first, which excluded the pendant fixture. The others would probably take an hour . The customer wanted the more difficult pendant fixture installed first.The pendant involved setting up a ladder to reach up on cathedral ceiling,dismantling, disconnecting and removing a large ceiling fan unit The pendant fixture was insanely difficult to install/assemble while standing on the top a ladder.The pendant had a grapefruit sized sphere which had eighteen or so wand like lights, that had to be threaded into hub ,while pushing /stuffing six inches of corded wire on each, in to sphere beforehand. That part took an hour alone, while standing /balancing on a ladder. That whole process and set up and break down, took three hours. It was successful and the light looked awesome.I told customer that I would call to return and finish the others, since it was getting late at that point. The customer agreed , but never returned my call, when I called to schedule return. Technically the customer owes me an hour of compensation at this point.Thanks, but no thanks."

I initially told Stephan that the job needed to be done by a date because we were going to be gone for three weeks and he agreed. He called the day before we were to leave to schedule the job while we were gone which, of course, didn't work. After we got back, we rescheduled promptly and the work went forward as planned. He and a helper ended up spending about 5 hours each so the cost was more. I think what he charged was fair and I am pleased with the results.

The work was great and Steve is very professional. The only small complaint involved his assistant. He asked if he could put some small pieces of old wood in your trash can? I said yes, but not to fill it because I needed to put my trash in. He asked which can and I said the blue one because the green one was for recycling. Sure enough, Saturday I go out and my recycling bin is chock full of wood, so the wrong bin and full. I have not yet told Steve about this but I will.

Great job, the ceiling is as good as new. Steve must've made 6 visits to our home for this job. He came to open up the ceiling for the plumber on the first day. After the plumbing repairs were made, he returned promptly to replace the drywall and put a first layer of mud over the joints. He made several subsequent visits to add more layers, prime and paint to complete the job. His final price was very reasonable, considering all of the trips he made to ensure a great job.

Steve Rothwell is excellent, skilled carpenter and contractor as reflected in my ratings. He has an eye for detail and it shows in his work. If there is "the right thing to do," to address an unanticipated obstacle during a project, Steve will identify it and either do it or make you aware of it if there is an additional cost. I was always flexible with the job start time that Steve discussed with me. If he said 9:00 and arrived at 10:00, I was fine with it. Usually if he anticipated a long delay, he would call to let me know. Once he started a job, he was ready to put in the required time and complete it within a reasonable time frame. His project estimates were always reasonable in my estimation. At times I would leave Steve alone while I attended to work or errands. I trust him and recommend him based on the work he has done for me over that last few years.
