Outstanding. This may sound negative but it was positive. He found things that needed to be addressed, things that he informed me of and took care of and minimal or at no cost at all. It was screen porch that we had windows put in and we took the old screens out to put the windows in. In doing so he noticed the porch was not level and needed to be raised in one corner about two inches to bring it up to level. He was able to do that, he actually jacked up that one corner of the porch. It is essentially a room not a porch but he got that up two inches and didn't charge us a cent. I don't know if anyone else would have looked for that.

I know we've already submitted a report but I received a request from Angie's List indicating that someone wanted additional information, particualrly relative to floors.  Please see my report above and if you would like to contact me, please do not hesitate.  I know how nerve wracking it can be when looking for a reliable, trustworthy contractor.  We consider ourselves VERY fortunate to have found Scott Ela of Top Shelf painting and remodeling.  I have copy and pasted my report from above in this section too.  Best wishes!  -kbd

As part of an overall remodel of the kitchen, Scott removed a load bearing wall, inserting a LVL beam.  once the wall was removed as well as the cabinets that previously occupied space adjacent to the wall, we needed to have the floor in those vacated areas match the surrounding hardwood floor.  Scott did a phenomenal job!  To this day, people who did not know there had beena wall and cabiets in that area are stunned when they learn what was done.  There is no way, short of us telling you, that you could tell work had been done there.  The floor "patches" belnd in so well it appears as if the entire floor was laid that way.  Additionally we had Scott sand and finish the entire first floor and it looks awesome.  We've also had Scott repair/replace/install floors in otherparts of the house as well.  Every one of the jobs he has done for us has been simply outstanding.  If anyone is interested in having Scott do work and want to see the quality of the work he does, we are more than happy to open our home and let you see what he's done.  I am happy to answer any questions/concerns. If possible, please go through Scott so that I know the viewing is "legit".  I am more than willing to let you take a look without going through Scott after we've had a chance to talk on the phone.Finding a reliable contractor is one of those things in life that I consider essential.  We are extremely fortunate to have found Scott Ela from Top Shelf and plan to have him back as soon as possible.  We've already started creating our "wish list" of things for him to do.

The date listed was for the largest job that was done; a total kitchen remodel.  Scott Ela, the owner of Top Shelf has been nothing short of AWESOME!  He has always been extremely professional and the quality of his work is second to none.  What most impressed us was Scott's insistence on doing the job RIGHT as opposed to fast.  He definitely finished well within the time he gave us.  I welcome anyone that has any question about the quality and extent of his ability to come see what he has done at our house.  It has been a couple of years since we've had him do any work here mainly because e are pretty well set but mainly because we have two kids in college and another in private high school that is eating up any disposable income we might have.  I can assure you however tat as soon as our oldest graduates this spring, we will be starting up on a few more projects.
