They were very prompt and professional. they stayed with the job, breaking only for lunch and end of day, until it was completed.

Electrician was hired to pull wires for basement remodel and complete electrical work. He completed the initial pulling of wires for lighting and junction boxes. I bill was received in the mail 3 weeks later for initial work but then was told would be extra cost to come back and finish services. He explained hooking up light and plug ins would be straight forward and could be completed by us. After the drywall contracts completed the basement remodel, my husband completed the wiring needing to hook up switches, plug ins and light fixtures. . Issues arose where one light needed pull chain and one switch was wired to bathroom instead of local bedroom. Also 4 junction boxes didn't have heat. We contacted electrician on 3 different occasions with vm but with no call back received. After finally answering phone was very short on the phone and refused to stand behind his work. When asked him to come review wiring he said would be for additional charge up front and said this wasn't his fault and few days would call us back. We have had to call another local electrician to come assist with wiring finishing.
We can understand a mistake happening and our education needing done. Electrician should be expected to review the job and then also come onsite without being defensive if follow-up work/clarification is needed.
Response from LIGHTHOUSE ELECTRICAL CONTR
"This customer is correct in the fact that we were hired to complete the electrical portion of a basement remodel on a rental property of theirs. However, they are not correct in the fact that we would sanction the customers to complete the electrical work that was started by our technicians. The Nebraska State Law does not allow unlicensed electricians to work on others domiciles, including landlords performing electrical work on their rental properties. We cannont be held liable for the quality of the work that is started by our technicians and not completed by our technicians. The agreement with the customer on this project was to complete the work based upon a time and material billing. She is correct in the fact that I told her there would be additional costs once we returned to complete the project. The customer wished to save money and tried to complete the electrical by themselves. Not only did they not have the understanding and expertise to attempt this, but it was illegal. The customer did not pay the full amount of their bill, instead they paid only a portion of the invoice for the work performed. When entering into an agreement with a professional tradesman please don't expect them to start the project, and then attempt to finish it yourselves. Let them do the work you've hired them for, they are the professionals who perform their trade every day."
