This is one of the best experiences I have had with a local mover. First of all they were willing to do the work on short notice. Secondly, I received and e-mail bid price the same day. I called and sealed the deal right away. The person on the phone was great and was able to get me scheduled right away. The two gentlemen who did the move were friendly and courteous. I would have to say they were extremely efficient and careful to protect the refrigerator. They wanted to be sure everything went well. The price was well below other bids I had received. Given the efficiency of both men, I felt they saved me money on the time. I will certainly use this firm in the future. 'What a great experience. This is another good Papillion business.

The first move (into our rented duplex) involved Jim's Moving unloading two semi-trailers full of furniture from a 2,200 square foot home into a much smaller split-level duplex. That move went just fine (except for the fact that the movers who loaded us up in Arizona had done a poor job of packing the furniture resulting in a LOT of discovered damage to our furniture as it was unloaded here). Jim's Moving's foreman was very compassionate regarding all the damaged furniture they uncovered, and actually helped us identify all the damaged pieces so that I could document the damage with my camera. (Sadly, I later learned that I had no recourse to seek damages from the Arizona packing company because I also used a third-company to transport the items from Arizona to Nebraska -- they each pointed fingers at each other, and neither would accept responsibility for the damage. It was clearly an issue of negligent packing by the Arizona packing company, but I had no way to make them pay for the resulting damage. Lesson learned: *ALWAYS* use the same company for loading items at your old location, transporting, AND unpacking at your new location so that a single company must take responsibility for any damage that occurs.) We had a 3-man team, and the total for this job was $748.
The second move (from the rented duplex to our new home in Midtown) two months later was a MUCH bigger job. In that 2-month span, I had purchased numerous new furniture pieces in anticipation of moving into our new home, so there was a lot more to move out than was initially moved in to that duplex. This time, we hired a 6-man team, and we fully filled 3 of Jim's Moving trucks. The move out of the split-level duplex went very quickly, and we were quickly at our new house ready to unload. The new house has 2 floors, plus a basement, an attic, and a detached garage. I played traffic cop directing all six members of the moving crew to each of those spaces I just listed. We had movers going up and down stairs all over the place, and I never heard a complaint from anyone! As the afternoon wore on, 2 additional movers showed up to help the 6-member crew already there. They were all determined to finish out the day together, and I appreciated that very much. The only hiccup to the unloading was that there was one team member who became slower and slower as the afternoon wore on. The foreman eventually had to pull him aside to scold him, and while it wasn't directly in front of me, I could hear the scolding, and it was an uncomfortable moment, and made for a tense situation for the last hour or two of the unloading. All the rest of the movers, including an awesome foreman, were very professional and efficient. I gave an and quot;Aand quot; rating for every category except for professionalism where I gave a and quot;Band quot; rating only because of the one mover who started dragging his heels and letting the other dedicated movers do some of his portion of the work. I'd definitely hire this team, minus the one guy, again. This move (from duplex to new home) took a full day, and the total cost came out to be $3,092. That was far cheaper than quotes I received from other local companies.

it went pretty well. moving wise everything went well. price wise i was quoted lower but it changed when they showed up with three people. then mid way through they told me that i had enough stuff to move to have a three person move which increased the price to 128 per hour instead of 99 per hour so instead of 300 i paid 435. the three people were at the move before mine so when they showed up i just assumed they that three were there because the prior job called for it and the third guy was just helping them get done quicker. The guy told me that i could stick with two people but it would take longer or pay for three and get done faster. at that point half my stuff was on the truck so i said get done quickly. other than the unexpected increase in price, they were professional,, careful with my belongings and did a good job. no complaints.

Great, reasonable price, friendly service. They offered extra services at no extra charge. This is the second time for us. The first time they moved an 800 pound gunsafe into the basement. The second time they moved the whole house including the safe into a basement again. They charged less to move the whole house and safe for less than Able locksmith and safe dealer wanted to move the safe by itself. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

I cannot begin to describe how angry I am at these movers. We hired them to move our furniture, a piano, a couple of scooters, and some remaining boxes as we moved across town. Here is a list of everything they did wrong:They couldn't find our place in spite of having the address. The office apparently didn't tell the moving crew they were moving our furniture and that we were in a second floor apartment. The movers yelled at their office about this on the phone in front of my wife and 2 year old. They took an HOUR(!?) to move our piano down our stairs. The movers that moved us in did it in about ten minutes. That is $150 to get our piano down stairs. I would have done it myself if I had known that! They are supposed to be piano experts. They took smoke breaks and waited for another mover that never showed up, then told my wife they'd knock that time off of the price, then charged her for the smoke breaks. They left a ton of things at our old apartment (boxes, dog kennel, statue, crib, etc). They didn't even look in our master closet! The dented the corner in our new apartment. They moved stuff from the garage in the old apartment into the family room in the new one. Nothing ended up where it should have been. Our cloth baby rocker is in the kitchen! They broke a table because they couldn't be bothered to unscrew the legs. I understand that things break, but this is just negligent. At the end of the day my wife didn't argue with them because she was so traumatized. Our nanny saw the whole thing and can't believe it either. When my wife called the guy on the phone said of course he wouldn't charge us for the smoke breaks but that he'd have to get the mover's side of the story. That is terrible service! The customer is NOT right here, the worker's word wins the day.The office called my wife back the next day and left a message explaining that they will do nothing for us and consider the case closed.Long story short, they overcharged us and didn't complete the job. They were rude and unapologetic. Terrible company.

"The following is a response to this member's complaint: She called and scheduled their move. She said they had an upright piano to move out and it was upstairs. (Upright pianos are 5' tall and about 800 pounds.) I asked if there were any other pieces going? She said maybe a couple of other pieces. I also asked if the steps were a straight flight of stairs? She said "yes". I was told there were a few steps, half a flight, at the unloading location. Two days before the move she called and added two scooters to the move. She gave us the address of the location to arrive at for loading. An apartment number was not given. Because there was not an apartment unit given in the address, the movers thought they were going to a house. They called her to confirm the address and were told it was an apartment. The movers were three minutes away at that time. They drove directly to the apartment. The foreman did call the office to discuss the move when he was at the moving van. The problem was there was a change from what was schduled to do and what they were being told needed to be moved. The move was scheduled for a piano and a few pieces, and two scooters. They were told the entire apartment needed to be moved. The concern was the addition of time this was going to add to the move. The additional moving was going to make the crew late for the second scheduled move for that day. The foreman was at the moving van at the time he made the call and not in front of her and her daughter. Concerning the piano, it did not take an hour to move the piano out. The movers moved the piano out of the apartment. They got it to the top of the stairs when she told them there were other options to move the piano out and she wanted them to look at them. The movers looked at the other options and determined the stairs would be the best method to move the piano out. The stairs which she described as straight, actually had a 45 degree turn, which was difficult to maneuver. It took them 30 minutes to move the piano from start to finish, not 60 minutes. The movers explained to me they did leave some small items behind because they were told to do so to keep the bill down. The unloading location involved a full flight of steps. (We were told it was a half flight of steps.) The foreman did call the office to request one more mover to help push the approximately 800 pound piano up the steps. All movers were on other moves. The movers did take a break (which they did take off the bill) before they moved the piano up the full staircase. The movers brought all of the furniture into the apartment and placed it in the locations they were told to put it. She did call the office and discussed her side of the story. She did not mention any damage to her table at that time, nor has she ever called about damage to a table at any other time. I told her I would talk with the moving crew and call her back. After talking to the movers on the job, I called her back and left a detailed message explaining the initial scheduling of the move was for a few items and the piano. Not the entire apartment. The stairs at the loading location were not straight, as described to us, and they contained a turn which was difficult to maneuver. The unloading location was a full flight of stairs to go up, and not a half flight to the apartment. I also said the foreman stated he told her he was only charging her 15 minutes travel time back to the office rather than the actual 35 minutes to credit her for the break they took. I also left the message I would help her on the cost by refunding her a 1/2 hour of moving time. The refund was mailed to her. The biggest error on this move appears to be the information provided over the phone and described for scheduling was not reflective of the actual items and conditions of the actual move. I feel the movers did a good job for what they had to do to complete this move."

They were polite and efficient, asked if they could do other things for us (we had planned to move some things ourselves to save money and time), and we let them do a few extra things which fit in the work load without costing us much more.
We realized as they were moving some bedroom things that some mattresses we had positioned ourselves earlier were in the wrong room, and they moved them for us happily.
We were very pleased with their work.

They were okay. They had a much better price than another mover. They had two trucks. Nothing was broken. My dad sent me out to get them some cheeseburgers while they were working and later I got some beer for them. They were very friendly. We had some dogs that were running around loose. They were very friendly and patient with them. They were patient with my mother who was frantic and hectic. We would probably use them again.

Jim's Moving sent 3 guys to do the job. Even though it was an "in house job", they covered the piano with pads. The music stand was removed so it would not be stressed when the piano was covered and secured with belts. They took the piano around the outside of the house and brought it in through the downstairs backdoor. They set the piano in place and were eager to put it EXACTLY where I wanted it. The music stand was then screwed back onto the piano. All three men were extremely careful and courteous. When I thanked them, they, in turn, thanked me for the work. We first used Jim's Moving in 2002 when we moved into our home and will continue using them when needed.

We called around forever to find the cheapest price and Jim's had very competitive wages. They were also very polite and dedicated into getting us moved and keeping us happy. They got us loaded and unloaded pretty quickly and we were satisfied with their services.

The movers did an excellent job and we were really pleased with them. They were very professional, polite and courteous. They took a lot of care with our things as they didn't break, scratch or damage a thing. They didn't track any dirt in and wiped their shoes off at the door each time. They were very neat and left our house in nice condition. They are a small local reputable moving company that is known for doing a good job. I would highly recommend them.
