Vinny's Tree Service

Our landscaping company sent Vinny's Tree Service to take down a very large tree for us. While they were here, we asked them to trim a few additional trees for us. We figured they were already here and they would probably like to make a little extra. Based on a verbal conversation, we assumed they were charging $125. They trimmed the trees as requested cutting off the ends of about 6 branches, and it added about 15-20 minutes for them to trim the trees from the ground with a pole saw. We were extremely surprised when we received an invoice for $375. Evidently they charge $125/tree, which equates to a rate of about $1,500/hour. When we contacted them about our concern, they held firm on their $375 to trim a few branches with a pole saw and were extremely rude. They additionally noted they were only paid $500 from the landscaping company to cut down a giant catalpa tree, which took them about 3 hours to cut down and grind out the stump. We were very disappointed in the Vinny's Tree Service took advantage of the situation and hoodwinked a trusting customer. I would not recommend them to any individual or as a sub-contractor to a landscaping company.

Vinney answered within the hour and took care of the issue within 3 hours.  I couldn't ask for a faster response and better service.  I've used Vinney for all our tree/shrub trimming needs for the last 5 years.  I wouldn't trust my trees to anyone but Vinney!

Very well, he gave me plenty of notice and was very prompt throughout the entire process from bid to job completion. This company's bid was significantly less than the other 3 companies I had bid out the work. It was a pleasant experience and I would recommend using Vinny to anyone. I will be using him again.

It went very well, they were great.

If you want a company that may or may not return your calls with reasonable timing this is the company for you. Scheduled the service on 11-7-14 based upon reviews and reasonable estimate. Every time I called the company using three different phone numbers listed for the company I had to leave voicemails. The owner promised to call 24 hours ahead of service time and would be able to come out later part of the next week. On 11-10 I came home from work to find my front tree trimmed with no call or note notifying the service had been performed. After several attempts to call the company over the next couple days the owner finally returned my calls. I expressed my concern about not being notified about the service being performed due to the fact I wanted to be present because of safety and liability concerns along with wanting to ask questions about the service. The owner became agrumenative and unprofessional when I explained my concerns. On 11-14 the owner finally called to state that the service team would come out that day to trim my backyard tree, this prompted me to ask a time frame in order to make sure I would be home. Later that day I happen to come upstairs from my office to find three of the service team members peering over my fence and harassing my dog. They never came to the front door to notify me that they were there and proceeded to set up their equipment on the church property behind my house with no consent. I finally was able to get my dog inside, after that they proceeded to climb over my wooden fence, not once asking to use the gate or permission to climb over my fence. When I approached the crew I was not greeted by a single member of the team. When I asked for their names and questions about the service they were blunt with answers and never gave their names. Frustrated with the company and situation I went back inside and let them proceed with the work. I called the owner to express my concerns about the customer service of the service team and again the owner was combative and non-sympathetic and said he would send a supervisor out to talk to me. While the team was performing the tree trimming service they were dropping branches on my gutters and fence. Luckily there was no damage to my property. After completion they proceeded to climb over my fence again and never said a word about the job being completed.
Over two hours after my call with the owner, a field supervisor arrived at my home. He never introduced himself and I could smell the stench of marijuana smoke. I proceeded to explain my concerns about the customer service of the company. Upon
inspection of the backyard, I noticed the service team had left numerous small braches all over the backyard. This surprised me because when they trimmed the front tree earlier that week they didn’t leave a single branch. To make matters worse, my dog likes to chew on branches and the lack of cleanup posed a potential chocking or intestinal problem if my dog would have chewed on those small branches. The field supervisor heard my concerns and was seemingly apologetic yet did not offer any measures to resolve my complaints about the company. Later that day I called the owner of Vinny’s Tree Service to discuss the settlement of
the bill for the tree service and once again I had to leave a voicemail. On 11/18/14 I called the owner again to discuss the settlement of the bill for the tree service and had to leave another voicemail. As of 11/19/14 after no further communication from the company I sent payment to the company at a reduced price because of the quality of customer service and the overall
experience with the company.
Upon analysis of the overall experience with Vinny’s Tree Service, I would never recommend nor rehire their
services ever again.

The work I requested was scheduled in a prompt manner. I was most concerned about the removal of a very large dead tree. It was situated right next to (and growing overhead) of my large perennial garden. I had lots of flowers at risk to damage of falling branches. Vinny's crew arrived promptly at the appointed time and set to work. One man was tethered up in the tree and started sawing up branches and dropping them down to his team on the ground. He was very careful to direct the falling branches away from my garden, but as the job progressed it got more difficult. He had to tie up each branch with a rope and with the help of the men on the ground each branch was pulled over to a section of my lawn away from the flower garden. It was a big tree with lots of heavy work. After the job was done I inspected my garden and they didn't so much as knock the petals off a rose. I was very pleased. They raked up all the debris at the work sites and left my yard clean. Not so much as a footprint in the lawn when they were done. Vinny was on-site for a good part of the time and kept me informed of the progress.
The work went without a hitch. It took 5 men all morning and in to the afternoon to finish. They cleaned up every branch and errant stick produced from all the work. A few days later 2 men came back to grind out the stump of the dead tree as well as that of the snowball bush. After the stumps were ground up they raked and cleaned up both sites.
It was important to me that this crew was bonded and insured, as it is heavy work and I want everyone to be protected if anything would have gone wrong. The crew all wore hard hats and ear plugs. Safety is important to me when people are working on my property and all the bases were covered.
I can't say enough good things about Vinny's Tree Service and the work they completed for me.

Vinny went out within one day of my phone call and provided an estimate. The work was completed within a week and it was right after a severe storm had hit the area. The job was done promptly and thoroughly. We will use Vinny's Tree Service again.

They came on time as promised, and did exactly what we hired and paid them to do. They even removed the diseased and rotting trees in the neighbors yard. I was extremely impressed with their work and getting everything cleaned up before they left.

I have used Vinny's Tree Service in the past and gave them a call for a bid. I also got a bid from another highly rated (Angie's List) vendor. Vinny came in at about 1/2 the price! He came out the same day I called to give me the bid. (Note: the other company took a week and I had to call to remind them.) His crew arrived on the agreed date, on time, and with smiling faces. :) These guys are GOOD! Two main points I want to make (not including the price): They are VERY careful not to damage your property and they do a great job of cleanup when they are done. Next time I won't even get a second bid since I can't see how anyone could be better than Vinny. PHOTO NOTES: First picture showing employees working in the tree. Second: EVERYONE was friendly! Third: They DO NOT tear up your yard with the skid loader. Rather than and quot;spinand quot; the machine the driver carefully backs up and pulls forward to turn around. I was very impressed with such a nice touch. Fourth: Cleanup goes way beyond what I expected. They pick up tiny limbs and then use rakes and blowers to remove every loose leaf. My yard looked better AFTER they were done then it did before. Very nice!

Vinny did a great job! He provided a bid and was flexible when I decided to only have part of the work completed. He was punctual and did everything exactly as promised. Fantastic job, I could not be happier!

A neighbor who has used Vinny's Tree Service several times gave me a good recommendation. So I called and asked for a quote. Vinny came out a couple of days later, surveyed the trees, and gave me a very good estimate. He was professional and knowledgeable.
The man in the house next to me never had any trees trimmed and also asked for a quote. We both accepted the bids and Vinny scheduled us both for the following week. He called before coming out and arrived on time.
His crew of 4 guys had all the right equipment and did a phenomenal job. Two of the guys were actually jogging between the front yard and back yard like athletes using their job for physical training.
They were very efficient, hauled off all the branches, used a stump grinder down 6 inches below the surface, stacked the large logs for fire wood on my request, and then raked up all of the small pieces and all of my leaves and put them into the chipper. They hauled it all off in a dump truck.
The team all worked hard, had great attitudes, and were fun to watch. I just had to give them all a tip. They earned it.
