Turbo Tax

Probably the best online or purchase cd self prepared tax service.

TurboTax software is thorough and easy to use. I've been using it for over twenty years for pretty complex tax returns and have never had a complaint.
Their on-line chat support is quite responsive and works very well; however, it is not a 24x7 service, sometimes making it difficult to resolve an issue with TurboTax at home when I am at work during most of their hours for support.

We get TurboTax automatically every year, but this spring I could not find the disk (which arrives in November). So I called the company and requested another disk, which they sent quickly and for NO CHARGE. Incredible!
My husband does most of the and quot;interactionand quot; with the program while I collect the data for him, and so he knows more about it than I do, including how to access the not-regularly-visible worksheets for entering information (doctors seen, labs used, cars owned, etc.). I do know that entering basic information, from a W-2 and loading prior years' tax data, are both FAIRLY EASY to accomplish. From there we go through the program in the and quot;interviewand quot; mode, whereby the software asks questions and we supply answers and data. Then the program does all the math and gives a running estimate of possible tax refunds or taxes owed. TurboTax, in interview mode, does try to make sure you get as many deductions as you are eligible for - a nice touch. And finally, the returns completed through TurboTax have arrived quickly, with email notices of receipt for electronic filing, with only one (1) and quot;adverseand quot; response from the IRS in 10 years - and that was due to faulty information supplied by us, NOT due to anything the TurboTax program did.
I strongly recommend this software!

My husband likes them and they are very adequate. It is good. We were not happy with their responsiveness.

Online, everything populates, and is already there from the year before. So, you don’t have to re-enter everything.

We had some changes to our household with my mother-in-law passing away, and I thought I would need more assistance with the taxes this year. Hand R Block charges so much. I was quoted $120 for federal. My wife was mad at me for waiting until the last minute to do our taxes, of course. I decided to go back to using Turbo Tax.

They have something called and quot;MINTand quot;-it’s free and you can actually put your money or expenditures in and it will transfer to Turbo Tax, so when you go to do your taxes you only have to answer “Yes” or “No” questions.

Not unlike other services, though, depending on what kind of money you make, it can be expensive.

They do great work, and they are quick and easy.

I've been in computers since 1959, have heard almost everything, started when it was a new industry, have used them for solving problems, and have been using them for almost 50 years now. I bought their new upgrade package in December or January, it was around $35 for the new 2011 version, it covers everything, and guides you through every situation, They had a problem this year, it was fixed within a day or two, the IRS had changed a rule, required a schedule D, the IRS rejected my income tax form because it wasn't included with Turbo Tax, I emailed Turbo Tax, they fixed, and included it. I've been using them for 10 years. They had 100's of responses and I was very pleased how quickly my problem was solved. I give them high ratings and will continue to use them in the future.

I think they are user friendly.

It is an online service. It works easy. I have used them for ten years.
