The Bike Rack

I initially went with my husband for him to drop his bike off for service. We have talked about me getting a bike off and on since we live so close to the West Papio trail and walk it frequently with our dogs. After walking around the store looking at the bikes, I asked a sales person to show me a couple of bikes within a certain price range. He had me ride a Cannondale and a Trek Hybrid. I have rheumatoid arthritis and didn't want to purchase a bike that was going to hurt my back or cause joint strain. He was not pushy whatsoever and knew what to show me. We took the Cannondale and Trek out to the parking lot and he suggested I ride each one around the lot a couple of times and even ride into the neighborhood. After riding each bike twice, I ended up with the Hybrid. I did pay more for it because of the accessibility, ride, and overall bike and seat comfort. My husband and I both purchased helmets, water bottle holder, and a kick stand which contributed to the price. My husband got the call yesterday that his bike is available for pick up. Now if the weather cooperates, we'll be on those trails soon! I was very pleased with my overall experience and I highly recommend them.

The best thing about this store is the selection. It has a wide range of products, probably moreso than anywhere else in Omaha. Although I've been dealing with Bike Rack over the course of 8 years, I find them my least favorite bike shop in Omaha. One of my first experiences was trying to negotiate a small amount (ie. -$50) on a damaged Specialized Cirrus that was assertively refused (it was the only one in the store, in that size). To the above listed bike that was purchased, and then "misplaced" during delivery/storage from the Lincoln store. While calling both locations, it seems there was little to no communication between the two and things seemed very unorganized. On multiple occasions I've found their staff to be somewhat condescending, all while lacking overall knowledge of products. My general opinion is this -- If I need something in a pinch, and would like to do some quick product comparison's, it's probably one of the better places to go. I just prefer to get in and out quickly so I don't have to endure the opinions and thoughts from the staff.

They always do great work. I am always happy with their work. They are very professional and polite. They always help me when I have problems or need something else done.
